A nasty head clash left Kaye Scott worse for wear during her IBF middleweight world title defeat to Desley Robinson in Sydney on Friday night.
Fighting on the undercard of Jeff Fenech-trained fighter Brock Jarvis’ return to the ring, there was no love lost between the two fighters heading into the bout at The Star.
That followed Scott’s majority decision victory in their first clash in March this year.

The 40-year-old Scott started well in the early rounds before Robinson gradually worked her way on top and took out a deserved unanimous decision, 97-93, 97-93, 98-92, to claim the championship belt.
The result over 10 rounds improved 36-year-old Robinson’s record to 9-3, while Scott — a Commonwealth Games boxing silver and bronze medallist — suffered her first loss in five professional fights.

“Scott looked good in the early stages when she was pushing forward and leading the action,” commentator Ben Damon said on Fox Sports late in the fight.
“Robinson having more and more success the further it goes.”
One of the most decisive moments came in the seventh round, when the two fighters clashed heads before Robinson landed a straight left hand on Scott’s jaw.
Scott instantly had an egg over her right eye that quickly began swelling.
“A good right hand from Robinson and the head’s came together, there is huge swelling on the head of Kaye Scott,” Damon said.
“A big egg right on the head of Scott. The heads came together pretty savagely there for a moment.
“We’ll get a good look at what has happened to the forehead of Scott and it is not pretty.
“She will be able to feel that there is some damage there, she won’t know how pronounced it is, but we certainly do.”
Scott’s corner put an ice pack on her head in every subsequent break between rounds, but by the end of the fight the swelling had moved across the majority of her forehead.
“Kaye Scott, with all the damage on her forehead,” Damon continued.
“She won the first fight, has this one got away?
“A very, very close one but the ascendancy seems to be with Robinson.”
In the end it was a comfortable victory for the active Robinson, who picked up her fourth straight win over just seven months.
The Queenslander taunted Scott by clapping in her face after the decision and then divulged what she had faced leading into the event.
“You would have no idea,” she said. “I’ve actually got a fractured foot.
“I wasn’t supposed to be fighting. I wasn’t supposed to be fighting but we f**king did it.”
Asked if she ever considered postponing the fight, Robinson replied: “No there’s not a chance in hell I was letting Kaye get the world title.
“It’s mine. I f**king earned it.”
