Former world boxing champion Jeff Horn has raised upward of $10,000 for a bushfire appeal after being touched by the plight of his fellow Australians over summer.
Horn, revitalised after beating Michael Zerafa in a Brisbane bloodbath on December 18, said a signed hoodie, Horn-Pacquiao cap and signed boxing gloves had been auctioned.

Bidding on the gloves closed this afternoon and money raised would be sent to the New South Wales Rural Fire Services and Brigade Donation Fund.
“I just wanted to raise us much money for our country that was burning,’’ Horn said.
Horn was down to business in Glenn Rushton’s Stretton Boxing Club this afternoon after returning from a post-Zerafa fight rest.
Horn’s promoter Dean Lonergan said it was a 60-40 chance he would secure a fight with fast emerging boxer Tim Tszyu this year.

But Horn said regardless of who he was lined up against, he was ready to roll in 2020 after reasserting himself by beating Zerafa after Zerafa’s camp predicted Horn would be put in retirement after last months’s bout.
“Regardless of who it is, I am back. I am hungry again,’’ Horn said.
Horn said the Tszyu fight could happen, “but there are a lot of things to agree upon’’.
“He is brave man wanting to step up this early (and fight Horn), but he has it in his blood through his father (Kostya).
“He is a great fighter. It would be a massive event.’’.
