CONOR McGREGOR is backing himself to KO Floyd Mayweather Jnr inside four rounds.
Mystic Mac is preparing for an early finish of the undefeated boxing legend — telling pals: “I’ll do him in the fourth round.”
The Notorious, 28, is set to make his professional boxing debut against Money, 40, and is seen as a major underdog by most pundits and ex pros.
But the Irish UFC superstar, from Dublin, is determined to stun the sporting world and hand Mayweather his first ever pro defeat in Las Vegas next month.
A source close to the talented Crumlin lad told the The Sun: “Conor is convinced he is about to shock the world once again and is adamant he’ll do it early.
“He has made predictions before and has always managed to back it up so who’s to say that he’s wrong?
“He’s told pals he’ll KO Floyd in the fourth round.”
His coach John Kavanagh has said Conor is “scarily focused” ahead of the billion dollar showdown, although he thinks it will take the Crumlin ace eight rounds to make history.
Kavanagh insisted: “I can’t envisage another outcome other than Conor stopping him within eight rounds.”
Referring to boxers and pundits giving McGregor little chance, he added: “I guess I somewhat understand their point of view, not that I remotely agree with it.
“But if you didn’t have a good understanding of how Conor’s training is normally and you haven’t seen him against good boxers, I can sort of see why they might think that and, I don’t know, I guess boxing is their baby.”
The fighters are set to finally face off this week when their highly anticipated media tour gets under way in Los Angeles.
UFC boss Dana White said he will be accompanying McGregor on the press tour but admits he is unsure what to expect.
He laughed: “It’s going to be a f****** s*** show! I don’t know, I think it’s going to be more like a boxing press conference than it is our press conferences.
“You know how mine are — no bulls***. We walk in, and we sit down and, ‘What’s up? Who has the first question,’ and we get it rolling.
“I think there’s going to be a lot more bulls*** in this one.”
He added: “Mayweather’s team is putting the thing together.
“I’m not gonna get up and do any speeches. Conor and I will answer questions when asked questions.
“I think there’s gonna be a lot of people come in and talk.”
Meanwhile, McGregor is already plotting his next move after he was presented with a customised chess board.
The dad-of-one shared a snap of himself ahead of his high stakes Mayweather fight and wrote: “Chess is a great game.”
