Mundine left heartbroken as junior club refuses to show Horn fight
Anthony Mundine’s career came to an end against Jeff Horn but it wasn’t the brutal loss that left the sporting star heartbroken. Instead, it was a snub from his junior club that delivered the ultimate insult.

There’s one thing that hurt Anthony Mundine almost as much as Jeff Horn’s huge left hook that ended his career on the canvas at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
And that’s the fact his old club St George Leagues at Kogarah refused to show the fight.
Horn-Mundine was third highest for Main Event sales in pubs and clubs around the country behind only Mayweather-McGregor and Mundine-Green I.
But the old St George Leagues club refused to buy it.

“It’s heartbreaking and it’s an insult,” Mundine said before the fight.
“I started there as a 15-year-old in their junior reps.
“Maybe the club is struggling to know what their members and customers want.”

Promoter Dean Lonergan was blown away by the TV audience and crowd Mundine and Horn attracted to Suncorp Stadium.
“I’ll say this about Choc,” Lonergan said, “I’ve never worked with a boxer who promotes fights like he does. In that regard he’s the best.”
