Blake Griffin and Kendall Jenner ‘cooled off’ after Detroit move

BLAKE Griffin has gone from one of America’s best cities to one of its worst — and now he might lose girlfriend Kendall Jenner.

Blake Griffin’s move to the Detroit Pistons has been far from smooth.

ABSENCE doesn’t always make the heart grow fonder.

Blake Griffin’s blockbuster move from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Detroit Pistons ahead of the NBA trade deadline has apparently slowed his relationship with Kendall Jenner.

“They’ve definitely cooled off and are taking things at a slower pace, but not because of any particular drama,” an insider recently told People.

“He got traded and isn’t local anymore, so they’ve grown apart a bit just because of distance. They’re still involved.”

First linked in August, Jenner, 21, made multiple courtside appearances at Clippers games. Since Griffin, 28, was shipped to Detroit, the supermodel has been spotted elsewhere, including dinner with a mystery man Monday night at Nobu in Malibu.

Griffin’s personal life has hit several speed bumps of late. Earlier this month, the 208cm power forward was sued for palimony by ex Brynn Cameron, with whom he shares two children. The mother of two says Griffin was “cruelly embarrassing his family with his public fawning over Kendall Jenner,” according to the suit, per TMZ.

The situation has added an extra layer of strain on Griffin’s relationship with Jenner.

“Being traded from Los Angeles to Detroit so abruptly was just a total shock for Blake, and now this lawsuit Cameron filed, well, it’s taking a toll on his relationship with Kendall,” a source told US magazine.

The insider claimed Blake knew the palimony suit was going to be filed but didn’t know the exact date and warned Kendall ahead of time.

“He didn’t know to the extent she would be included in the filing,” the source said, though added Blake “strongly suspected” Kendall was going to be “dragged” into the matter.

“Kendall just doesn’t understand the need to drag her into a dispute between two people that absolutely had nothing to do with her,” the insider said.

“She got involved with Blake after he had already dumped Brynn. Brynn and Blake had been off and on for years, (so) to portray Kendall as some sort of homewrecker is just out of bounds.”

The source added: “It’s incredibly disappointing for Blake that a private family matter is now out in the public” and that “he is foremost concerned about his children.”

Griffin is experiencing tough times on court too. The Pistons (28-32) have lost six of their past seven games and face an uphill battle to make the playoffs.

The Clippers have won seven of 10 to move into eighth position in the Western Conference.
