Sydney Kings appoint Will Weaver as man to replace Andrew Gaze as head coach
The Sydney Kings have announced the appoint of Boomers assistant coach Will Weaver to replace Andrew Gaze as head coach.
Will Weaver has been named the new Sydney Kings coach.
Weaver, currently an assistant coach for the Boomers, is the head coach of Brooklyn Nets affiliate club Long Island Nets, who play in the NBA G-League.
He takes over from Andrew Gaze, who stepped down after this year’s NBL season in which the Kings were knocked out in the semi-final.
“He is a cutting-edge coach with a focus on player development, perfect for the forward-looking organisation we are currently building,” Sydney Kings Chairman Paul Smith said.
Weaver is currently committed and set to embark on a G League playoffs push with the Long Island Nets, which he will complete before moving to Australia with his family.
