The boss of Australia’s biggest state was no match for tennis star Nick Kyrgios when the pair faced off on the basketball court for a good cause.
NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet and Kyrgios were among the famous faces who took part in the Sydney Kings’ Starlight Celebrity Game at Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday.

The Australian Open men’s doubles champion is a big basketball fan and his love of the game was on full display as he guided his side to a thumping 37-13 victory over the rival side, led by Mr Perrottet.
Kyrgios’ on-court skills excited the crowd and created many memorable moments including multiple top blocks of Mr Perrottet’s shots.
“OMG @NickKyrgios put a series of moves on the NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet in the Celebrity ASG and hit the bucket. He blocked his shot twice,” NBL commentator Corey Williams posted on Twitter.
“16 points 2 dimes 2 blocks in 20 minutes. Even in a celebrity game he’s going hard. My man Nick ain’t no joke. #MustSeeTV.”
Other celebrities to take part in the Starlight Children’s Foundation fundraiser included event organiser and 2GB host Ben Fordham, actor Dan Ewing, former NRL star Jamie Soward, Miss World 2020 Maria Thattil, Wallabies great Nick Farr-Jones, Studio 10 host Tristan MacManus and celebrity chef Luke Mangan.
Young fans also took to the court in their wheelchairs, with the second half of the match becoming a stage for the kids.

In one heartwarming scene, a young fan named Poppy, was lifted on the shoulders of stars so she could perform a slam dunk.
“The premier has spoken - Kyrgios will be on his team next time,” Mr Fordham said post-game.
“We came away with the victory but Starlight was the biggest winner.”
“Dom Perrottet was a good sport and put his reputation on the line. Nick Kyrgios was off his game a bit so I expect more from him next year.”
