Get prepared for the highest scoring round of the SuperCoach NBL season so far with SIX teams on the double, plus the best crop of cheapies in a long time.

Get prepared for the highest scoring round of the SuperCoach NBL season so far.

A massive six teams are on the double – the equal most of any round this season – so scores in the 500s and even 600s will be the norm.

But with a strong crop of cheapies, it’s also a key week to free up cash.

ON THE DOUBLE

Yes, six teams are on the double. But not all teams on the double are made equal.

The sides to target right now are United and Phoenix, who not only play twice this week but also for the next THREE rounds.

SEM’s Matt Hurt is therefore close to a must after averaging the third most points of any player this year.

Matthew Dellavedova and early season fancy Matt White are also calling, while cheapie Angus Glover is set to make bulk cash.

The other bargain option is Max Darling of New Zealand.

The Breakers (and Kings) have doubles for the next TWO rounds, and with a BE of 3, Darling is almost guaranteed to make money after scoring a keeper-like 30 points over the weekend.

Speaking of cheapies, they are more crucial than usual as SuperCoaches not only look to maximise this week’s doubles, but also plan for upcoming rounds.

In particular, have an eye on next week when the Wildcats start a five-round stretch of doubles – the equal most in the NBL this year.

Translation: Start freeing up cash for the likes of Kristian Doolittle, Keanu Pinder and perhaps even four-time MVP Bryce Cotton depending on the timeframe for the rib injury he sustained on the weekend (although due to the injury he’ll leak mass cash when he returns so waiting could be the play).

Popular cheapie Ben Henshall is a hold as he should make even more cash over this period, and will likely get more time if Cotton is out.

Adelaide 36ers have a horror schedule coming up with five singles in a row, so sell up.

Will Magnay is the most sold player but also factor in that the JackJumpers have doubles in the next two rounds after this.

CAPTAIN CALL

Parker Jackson-Cartwright did the business as most popular captain last week and it will take a brave SuperCoach to go against him this week. That said, there were only two teams on the double last round and PJC was a clear standout. But with six teams on the double this week the field widens considerably. Xavier Cooks is PJC’s main rival.
