Nine players with low ownership who can transform your SuperCoach NBL fortunes

Picking stars no one else has is a great way to get a jump on the pack in SuperCoach NBL. Here are nine players who should be in a lot more teams.

Sometimes it makes sense to follow the crowd, especially if you’re new to a game like SuperCoach NBL.

But striking out on your own can bring big rewards.

Here are nine players who should be in a lot more SuperCoach NBL teams, ready to set your side part and give you the edge over your friends this week, and in the rounds ahead.

DEJAN VASILJEVIC (ADELAIDE 36ERS)

SuperCoach price: $342,700 GUARD

Ownership: 4 per cent

One of the best shooters in the game and on the double this week. Everyone’s getting Rob Edwards from Cairns, but DJ might be the option if you want to separate yourself.

TREY KELL (ILLAWARRA HAWKS)

SuperCoach price: $358,500 GUARD

Ownership: 4 per cent

A candidate to lead the entirety of SuperCoach in points in Illawarra’s potent offence. He’s pricey, but could be worth every cent when it’s said and done.

JORDAN HUNTER (SEM PHOENIX)

SuperCoach price: $266,500 CENTRE

Ownership: 4 per cent

Feels like the sky’s the limit for South East Melbourne’s only recognised centre. He’s averaging 26 and if he stays out of foul trouble that’s probably his floor. No double this week, but one to consider moving forward, especially at a cut price.

TYRELL HARRISON (BRISBANE BULLETS)

SuperCoach price: $237,800 CENTRE

Ownership: 4 per cent

Bounced back from a horror game to start the season with 42 points in a loss to Illawarra. Just signed a contract extension and is the type of player who can give you one-and-a-half games worth of points on a single – which is important, given the Bullets don’t play a double until round 10, when he might be to expensive.

JACKSON MAKOI (CAIRNS TAIPANS)

SuperCoach price: $58,500 GUARD

Ownership: 4 per cent

The forgotten cheapie owing to his own misbehaviour. Makoi is back from suspension and could be slotted straight into Cairns’ starting line-up. An athlete with great passing ability. Plays two games this week, so it’s a big decision on whether to buy or hold off.

KRISTIAN DOOLITTLE (PERTH WILDCATS)

SuperCoach price: $276,400 FWD

Ownership: 3 per cent

Quiet achiever in Perth, averaging 30 points a game. Solid as a rock and on the double this week. Contributes in multiple statistical categories and will have the occasional monster.

TARAN ARMSTRONG (CAIRNS TAIPANS)

SuperCoach price: $199,200 GUARD

Ownership: 3 per cent

Should be at zero per cent right now and then 100 per cent as soon as he is announced fit. Calf injury ruined the popular mid-ranger’s start to the season but is reportedly getting close to a return and is expected to be given heavy minutes as the starting two guard in Cairns.

KEANDRE COOK (BRISBANE BULLETS)

SuperCoach price: $277,000 GUARD

Ownership: 2 per cent

Averaging 32 and on the bubble this week, he’s probably not a consideration right now, but if his output remains consistent, or improves, he’ll be one to eye when the Bullets hit their heavy schedule of doubles later in the season.

DYLAN WINDLER (PERTH WILDCATS)

SuperCoach price: $277,000 GUARD

Ownership: 1 per cent

Grabbed 16 boards in the Wildcats’ last outing and has the double this week. NBA chops coming off a tweaked ankle in the pre-season. Don’t overthink it, just get him. Criminally under-owned.
