NBA players aren’t afraid to deliver shots on social media, this time around it was New York Knicks guard Josh Hart who went whack.

Social media beefs are part and parcel of the league with players taking aim at their rivals with posts online.

Alvarado was asked what he would do with his winnings if the Pelicans were to win the NBA’s in-season tournament.

“I ain’t struggling now. I’m blessed to be financially good. So why do I need to add that extra load? Let that grow and let them have it. I ain’t going to see it. I promise,” he said.

“I ain’t going to touch it. It’s a great opportunity to do that. A lot of people aren’t that fortunate, but I am. I just want this game to keep me blessed and I don’t want my kids to worry about nothing,” he said.

Hart took to X, formerly Twitter, with a cold-hearted response that was sent with tongue firmly in cheek.

The hilarious post quickly whipped around the internet with it currently being viewed more than 11.6 million times and having over 700 replies and 8000 retweets.

Unfortunately for Hart his hopes of securing the $500,000 player payment for winning the in-season tournament came to an end after the Knicks were eliminated by the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Knicks succumbed to an offensive juggernaut in the quarterfinals, watching helplessly as the Bucks rained threes and Giannis Antetokounmpo pounded out a 146-122 blowout.

Milwaukee (15-6) advance to face the Indian Pacers in the semi-finals in Las Vegas on Friday (AEDT).

The Bucks knocked down an outrageous 23 three-pointers on 38 attempts, with Dame Lillard and Malik Beasley combining for 11.

The home team’s 60.5 per cent shooting on might’ve been enough to topple the Knicks by itself, but the Bucks also have Antetokounmpo, the NBA’s most physically dominant inside force, who finished with 35 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds in 34 minutes.

Julius Randle put up a fight with 41 points, getting to the paint and bullying his way to an efficient 14 for 19 shooting. But coach Tom Thibodeau, who normally gushes over such Randle performances, wasn’t interested.

“I’m more concerned with taking a good, hard look at what we have to improve defensively,” Thibodeau said. “Obviously, we fell very short in that area.”

Jalen Brunson added 24 points. But offensively, they still had problems.

The first half was close — largely because Randle didn’t miss a shot — but the Bucks quickly dominated in the third quarter. The game felt over with about five minutes into the second half, when Khris Middleton threw an alley-oop off an inbounds pass to a soaring Antetokounmpo for a jam.

The Bucks took a 13-point lead and led by double-digits for all but 24 seconds of the remaining game.

“Defensively we didn’t really do anything all game. That’s the story. That’s it,” Brunson said. “I mean, offensively we were playing fine. Defensively, on that side of the ball, we just didn’t do anything. That’s it.”
