The Chicago Bulls looked dead and buried against the Los Angeles Lakers, trailing 115-110 with 12.6 seconds left on the clock.
A quick play out of a timeout led to a three pointer, bringing the margin back to two points and 9.8 seconds to play.
Then Giddey picked off a lazy inbounds pass from James to set up teammate Coby White who buried another three to put the Bulls up one with 6.1 seconds to go.
The Lakers called a timeout before Austin Reaves drove into the lane for the layup to put them back up one with only 3.3 seconds to play and the full length of the court in front of the Bulls.
Enter Giddey … again.
The Aussie inbounded the ball before getting it right back from a teammate, he made it to halfcourt before pulling up and shooting over the outstretched arms of James.
The shot sailed through the air of the United Centre before swishing through the net and sending every Bulls fan in the arena into euphoria.

ESPN’s Michael Kruger wrote: “HOLY F***.”
Giddey spoke about the shot after the chaos inside the arena had finally calmed down.
“Let it fly with confidence,” Giddey told Bulls broadcaster K.C Johnson after the game.
“I missed two before that but let that third one go with confidence and nothing but net. What a way to come back.
“I’ve never made a game-winner before. I’ve made a couple of layups to put us up with a couple of seconds left, but a walk-off like that from halfcourt I’ve never done that before. I don’t know if I’ll ever do it again but I’ll take this one tonight.”
To make the absurd shot even crazier, it is now the longest game-winning shot in Chicago Bulls history.
Giddey has been on an absolute tear for the Bulls who are now 9-2 over their past 11 games and currently sit ninth in the Eastern Conference.
While his steal to set up White’s three and his halfcourt buzzer beater will steal the show, Giddey delivered his latest all-around masterpiece.
The Aussie guard finished the contest against the Lakers with 25 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists as he recorded the 16th triple-double of his career.
