Josh Giddey has continued one of the hottest streaks of his NBA career so far with a third consecutive double-double on Tuesday (AEDT).
The 22-year-old, who is a restricted free agent after this 2024/25 season, is also likely playing his way into a massive new contract.

Giddey top-scored for Chicago with 25 points as the Bulls hammered the hapless Philadelphia 76ers 142-110.
The Aussie also had 16 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and a steal in another impressive performance.
That stat line saw Giddey become the first Chicago guard since Michael Jordan to record 25/15/5 points-rebounds-assists on 50 per cent shooting.

Chicago moved Zach Lavine to Sacramento at the mid-season trade deadline, allowing Giddey to get his hands on the ball more often since the All-Star break.
Last week, Giddey had 27 points and 16 rebounds in an overtime defeat against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, which is quickly becoming his favourite venue.
He backed that up with 24 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds in a loss to the Phoenix Suns.
Chicago was riding a six-game losing streak heading into the clash in Philly, but Giddey’s performance led the Bulls to a dominant win over the Sixers, who were without Joel Embiid.
The Bulls opted against giving Giddey a rookie contract extension in October last year, keen to see how the Victorian would fit after his trade from OKC before handing him a new deal to remain in Chicago.
Prior to Tuesday’s game, former Bulls big man and current commentator Stacey King said Giddey’s recent form is exactly what the Chicago front office had been hoping for.
“If you are the Bulls’ front office, this is what you want to see,” said King, who played alongside Jordan in Chicago’s first three-peat from 1991-93.
“This is a guy you want to invest in if he continues to play the way he has.
“He’s been more aggressive offensively, he’s shooting the ball better. Not only is he passing the ball better, he’s just being more aggressive on both ends.
“I think that’s what the coaching staff wants to see and the Bulls’ front office wants to see.”
Giddey was a man on a mission in the first half against the Sixers, heading to the break with the insane statline of 17 points, 10 boards, five assists, three blocks and a steal.
According to NBA statistician Joe Cowley, Giddey was the first player in the play-by-play era that began in 1996/97 to ever produce that statline.
At the long break, the Bulls’ halftime show had enormous praise for the young Boomer.
“Josh Giddey, if you had 17 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three blocks in a game, that’d be a really good game,” said host Jason Goff.
“He’s got that in the first half.”
Former Bull and first-round draft pick Kendall Gill replied: “Man, what did he eat for breakfast?
“I mean the last three games, this guy has been on a roll. With a first half like this, he’s going to get a triple double.”
Can you believe that the Bulls have not yet re-signed Josh Giddey?

He'll be a restricted free agent this offseason with plenty of suitors as his price goes upð#NBAhttps://t.co/eXJPDzOZek
KJ Johnson added: “This team ranks last in the NBA with 18.9 free-throw attempts, they shot 20 in the first half.
“That to me was Josh Giddey constantly pushing the pace, constantly attacking the paint, setting up teammates.
“That to me is leadership right there.”
Giddey combined with Bulls rookie Matas Buzelis several times during the victory, showing off his trademark passing with a spectacular alley-oop assist from halfcourt.
While Giddey played limited minutes in the fourth quarter and fell short of a 14th career triple double, King labelled the Aussie “Magic” Giddey at one stage.
So...

Since January 1, including tonight's 2-for-2, Josh Giddey is 41-for-94 from behind the arc. That's 43.6% on 3.8 3PAs per game.
I'm intrigued!
It was a reference to NBA legend Magic Johnson, after an audacious no-look pass from Giddey led to another bucket.
After a spin move and score from the Aussie, Chicago’s play-by-play announcer Adam Amin said: “This is about as confident offensively as we’ve seen Josh Giddey consistently all year.”
Over his last three games, Giddey is averaging 25.3 points, 13.3 reboards, 6.6 dimes, 1.6 steals and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 10-of-14 from the three-point line.
His outside shot has been an Achilles heel during his career, but this season he has lifted his clip to 36.1 per cent.
Josh Giddey totaled 17 pts, 10 rebs, 5 asts, 3 blks and 1 stl in the 1H at PHI, becoming the only NBA player in the PxP era (since 1996-97) to record such minimums in a half, says PR Dre ... damn, that's a crazy stat

The victory takes Chicago’s record to 23-35. Despite trading Lavine and leaning towards a rebuild, the Bulls are in the box seat to finish 10th in the Eastern Conference for the second year in a row and reach the play-in tournament for the third consecutive season.
Giddey scored 31 points in a play-in game for Oklahoma City two seasons ago, but was traded to Chicago for Alex Caruso last off-season.
OKC picked up Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein in complimentary moves that have the 46-11 Thunder a defensive powerhouse and one of the NBA championship favourites.
For Giddey, he now appears to be thriving as one of Chicago’s primary hall handlers.
Dyson Daniels stars again
Meanwhile fellow Aussie Dyson Daniels is in a purple patch of his own.
The defensive stopper nicknamed the “Great Barrier Thief” had another seven steals for Atlanta in the Hawks’ 98-96 win over the Miami Heat.
He also finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
It was the 11th time this season Daniels has recorded five or more steals. No other player has done that more than four times.
Since 2000-01, only Chris Paul, Allen Iverson, Larry Hughes and Monta Ellis have had that many games with five or more steals.
Daniels is averaging an astonishing 3.1 steals per game this season and with 163 steals for the season, the 21-year-old is surely a lock to receive All-Defensive First Team honours and a bumper contract extension in the off-season.
