James Harden is desperate to force his way out of Philadelphia and is going down with a flamethrower mindset.

The superstar guard opted into his contract after the season came to an end in the hopes the team could work out a trade over the off-season.

Despite his insistence to want out, the Philadelphia 76ers will hold onto him and plan to bring him into training camp, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

Those plans might be out the window after Harden unleashed a scathing rant in the direction of Sixers boss Daryl Morey.

While hosting a basketball camp, the guard was answering questions from fans when he exploded.

“Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organisation that he’s a part of. Let me say that again: Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organisation that he’s a part of,” he said.

Morey has been Harden’s boss for a total of 10 years in the NBA, while trading for him twice when with the Houston Rockets and now the Sixers.

The explosive outburst comes after Harden made headlines for removing all mention of the Philadelphia 76ers from his Twitter and Instagram profiles, Harden posted a pair of rather cryptic sentences to his Instagram story.

“Been comfortable for so long. It’s time to get uncomfortable,” the post read.

With no other context, one might assume Harden is referring to his situation in Philadelphia, where he recently opted into his $35.6 million deal before requesting a trade to the Clippers.

A veteran aiming to join his fifth NBA team in 14 seasons, the discomfort could allude to starting over in a new city.

“I do have a long relationship with him. I’m attempting to honour that,” Morey told 97.5 The Fanatic weeks before Harden’s rant.

“But the reality is that if we do look at a trade it’s going to be for one of two things. It’s either going to be for a player who continues to help us be right there like we were last year, up 3-2 on one of the best teams in the East, the Celtics.

“If we don’t get either a very good player or something that we can turn into a very good player then we’re just not going to do it.”

While Harden may be ready to “get uncomfortable,” he’ll have to sit through another public trade saga to get there.
