UGLY scenes erupted at the end of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 30-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday as Quinton Jefferson tried to settle a score with abusive fans.
The Seattle defensive end was ejected in the final minute after some argy bargy when tempers threatened to boil over during a tense finish to the game. As he was jogging back to the locker room what looked like a plastic bottle flew past his head and Jefferson blew his fuse.
He turned on his heels and took his helmet off before walking over to a group of taunting supporters. He traded words with them as stadium officials tried to control him, but their job became even tougher when another object came hurtling towards him.
Jefferson broke free of his minders and ran towards the stadium wall, trying to climb it before people rushed in to drag him back down.
An upset Jefferson was eventually escorted towards the locker room.

“I’m not going to let somebody disrespect me, throw a beer on me,” Jefferson said after the game. “Just because I’m playing football, I’m still a human being. I’m still a man.”
Jefferson’s ugly encounter came soon after teammate Sheldon Richardson was sent from the field for throwing a punch in a melee, while Seattle coach Pete Carroll was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after running onto the arena.
Carroll addressed Jefferson’s conduct after the game, revealing he told the 24-year-old he shouldn’t have reacted like he did.
“He just kind of lost it,” Carroll said. “I told him, ‘That’s pro football. They pay to get in, they can do whatever they want.’”
Jefferson’s wife took to Twitter to defend her husband.
My husband is a human being with feelings, not a circus animal to have things thrown at and act a certain way on command. No one deserves to have things thrown at them.

No one doubted the cowardice of the fans, but plenty questioned Jefferson’s wisdom in confronting the offenders.
Quinton Jefferson probably isnât right for trying to get into stands.

But Iâll say this: at an NFL stadium is probably only place in the universe dude like that throws a drink at dude like Jefferson.
So much fake toughness in a crowd like that.
some regular person trying to fight quinton jefferson is how i know americans are delusional.

Fans should NEVER throw things at players, but Quinton Jefferson should miss the rest of the season. You attempt to into the stands after a fan and you just can't play. Sorry not sorry. Beyond bush league.

This is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

Quinton Jefferson making it way worse.
The Seahawks were held scoreless in a first half for the first time in more than a year. Jacksonville cornerback Jalen Ramsey intercepted one of quarterback Russell Wilson’s deep passes, Blair Walsh missed a 38-yard field goal at the end of the half and the Jaguars led Seattle 3-0 at the break.
It was the first time the Seahawks were held without points in an opening 30 minutes since playing at Arizona in October 2016.
Ramsey’s intercept was one of three for the match from the arm of Wilson. By contrast, Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles threw two passes for touchdowns and wide receiver Jaydon Mickens came up with a 72-yard punt return to set up a score and help his side to a six-point victory.
