NFL star’s wife got him fired for series of Twitter outbursts

EVEN for one of America’s most notorious WAGs there are consequences for spitting vitriol at everyone your husband works with.

WHEN the Buccaneers picked up Brent Grimes earlier this month, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross knew that he had washed his hands clean of both the cornerback and his outspoken wife.

Speaking at the NFL meetings Tuesday, Ross admitted the decision to part ways with Grimes was influenced by his spouse’s toxic Twitter rants.

“I think everybody knows what she represented,” Ross said, via the Palm Beach Post.

“I thought it was best that the Dolphins move on from Brent and Miko.”

The three-time Pro Bowler lingered on the free-agency market for days, likely because of the distractions Miko caused.

Miko constantly berated Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill on social media.

She was arrested outside a game in September. Grimes was arrested on charges of resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer while attending the Dolphins’ loss to the Bills at Sun Life Stadium. Grimes attempted to walk through a restricted gate at the stadium despite prior warning from the police not to trespass. After an officer grabbed her arm, Grimes screamed and broke away, according to the arrest report.

Though the police were able to put her in handcuffs — after an ill-fated attempt at a bear hug to restrain her — Grimes’ temper tantrum continued as she head-butted an officer.

While the threat of a Taser initially scared her straight, the self-proclaimed “dope chef” began to resist again after law enforcement put her in a golf cart to be transported to the Miami-Dade County jail for booking.

Recently she also threatened a reporter because of a news story claiming Grimes was being shopped around to other NFL teams, but wasn’t getting much interest because of his wife’s outbursts.

Before Grimes was released, the Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero shared that the Dolphins were thinking of trading the cornerback and that his wife was one of the reasons why.

She also made international headlines for her choice of birthday present to her husband — an erotic cake portraying the couple in an intimate moment.

Yep, good luck Bucs.

Before deleting her social media accounts, Miko Grimes — an erstwhile radio personality who has been married to Brent for five years — praised Tampa Bay before ripping the Dolphins to shreds.

“The Bucs are a REAL organization, being ran PROPERLY, unlike that dumpster fire in the AFC East we just left,” Grimes tweeted.

All class.

“They wouldnt DARE ask me to delete my twitter! i deleted my twitter bc i didn’t want the twitter gangsters and thumb thugs to have anyone to @ when they found out the Bucs (and multiple other teams) made them all look STUPID! who doesnt want a pro bowl corner thats doing s— NO OTHER CORNER IN THE LEAGUE CAN DO! men lie! women lie! stats lie! the media lies! u know whats undefeated? The post, which was originally shared by Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, has since been deleted.
