Cowboys fans humiliate themselves with insensitive wave

IT is one thing to cheer for your team, but you must never celebrate when this happens to an opposition player.

YOU don’t ever cheer while a player is injured, regardless of what team they play for.

The fans at AT&T Stadium in Arlington embarrassed themselves with a poor display during Monday’s (AEDT) NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins.

Washington cornerback Dashaun Phillips was down after colliding with Darren McFadden while trying to make a tackle in the second quarter. The man was carted off the field and taken in a stretcher to the hospital for examination.

Meanwhile, the fans may have become restless while he was being cared for. They began to do the wave.

That’s a pretty insensitive act by the fans.

Maybe the Cowboys should resort to instructing their fans how to behave correctly at home games, though it probably wouldn’t help much.

Followers on social media were disgusted with the lack of sportsmanship.

Clean up your act Cowboys fans.

The Redskins went on to beat Dallas 34-23 in the NFC East clash.

Kirk Cousins threw for three touchdowns before leaving late in the first half of a play-off tuneup.

Cousins broke Jay Shroeder’s franchise record for yards passing in a season, finishing with 4,166. Had the game mattered, he might have threatened Sonny Jurgensen’s 48-year-old team record of 31 touchdown passes, instead settling for 29.

The Redskins (9-7) won four straight to finish the season, their longest streak since winning the last seven the last time they made the play-offs in 2012. The NFC East champions will be the No. 4 seed on wild-card weekend.

Kellen Moore had 435 yards passing and three touchdowns after throwing an interception and losing a fumble on a snap to help dig a quick 21-0 hole for the Cowboys (4-12).
