THE WESTERN Bulldogs are set to roll the dice of injury-prone stars Shaun Higgins and Tom Williams against Fremantle on Wednesday.

The pair have long promised to be key players for the Bulldogs but are all too often on the sidelines.

Veteran Daniel Giansiracusa, Jordan Roughead and Liam Jones will also make their first appearance of the pre-season at Etihad Stadium.

The Dockers will be looking to rebound after a shocking defeat at the hands of arch-rivals West Coast in their opening NAB Challenge game and have again named a strong squad.

Ryan Crowley, Chris Mayne, Cam Sutcliffe and Clancee Pearce come into the squad for the trip to Melbourne.

The beaten Grand Finallists will be looking to find some form before another practice match against the Eagles and the a Round 1 meeting with Collingwood.

The Bulldogs looked strong in their NAB Challenge win over St Kilda in Geelong.

Despite the wet conditions, several the club’s young stars showed they are in for big years as Tom Liberatore, Jackson Macrae and Lachlan Hunter thrived.

The Bulldogs have a practice match against their VFL affiliate before a Round 1 clash with West Coast.
