REPORT: MAGPIES’ PERFECT TOM LYNCH AUDITION
Now, Billy Gowers and Josh Thomas have produced two moments of magic that are sure to be Goal of the Week rivals.
On Friday night Gowers channelled Daniel Wells - and the Karate Kid - with a stunning and ultimately match-winning goal in the Western Bulldogs thrilling win over Geelong.
Deep in the final quarter, Gowers crumbed the ball and in one move snapped it through in midair.
The goal was reminiscent of Daniel Wells’ Goal of the Year for North Melbourne against Fremantle in 2004 when he took the ball directly out of the ruck and snapped it in one motion.
Thomas produced an equally stunning goal on Saturday against Gold Coast.
The Magpies star tackled and dispossessed Sun Jarrod Harbrow, slid in to save the ball going out of bounds before bouncing to his feet and snapping the goal from an impossible angle.
