GOOD and bad news at Melbourne while injuries hit the Bulldogs and Gold Coast and Geelong regain Tom Hawkins. RE-CAP OUR SUPERCOACH CHAT

MELBOURNE ruckman Max Gawn has been named for the Demons’ crunch clash against West Coast in Perth on Saturday night.

It will be Gawn’s first game since injuring his hamstring in Round 3. However, it’s not all good news for the Demons with Jack Watts ruled out with a hamstring injury. UNCONTRACTED: WHICH AFL STARS COULD BE ON THE MOVE? WINNING PICKS: EXPERT AFL TIPS FOR ROUND 14 Watts attempted to train on Thursday morning but left the track early after a long conversation with coach Simon Goodwin. The Demons will also be without co-captain Nathan Jones who is expected to miss at least a month with a quad injury. Billy Stretch is the other inclusion for Melbourne. Meanwhile, the Eagles will be without veteran forward Mark Le Cras for the clash after he was ruled out with a hip injury. He has been replaced by Josh Hill. The Western Bulldogs have lost premiership star Tom Boyd for their clash with North Melbourne. Boyd will miss with a hip injury while Lin Jong will be out for the rest of the year after injuring his ACL. The Kangaroos have swung three changes for the clash, dumping Lachie Hansen and Jed Anderson while Kayne Turner will miss with a knee injury. Andrew Swallow, Jamie Macmillan and Majak Daw come in. Mystery still surrounds the health of Geelong midfielder Scott Selwood. Selwood declared in a radio interview earlier this week that he was little chance of playing but has been named on the club’s extended bench. Coach Chris Scott followed that up, saying the midfielder would be given every chance. “Selwood is well and truly still in the frame given we’ve got so long to go,” Scott said, referring to the Cats’ 10-day break. “I understand why he’d be pessimistic and we’re certainly not saying he is going to play, but we just haven’t got to the point where we’ve ruled him out. I think it’s fair to say that he has improved over the last couple of days.”
