Titled ‘The Port Adelaide Archives Collection’, the book is due for publication midway through the 2020 AFL season, but fans have until March 20 to reserve their place in the club’s iconic past.

Port executive general manager Matthew Richardson described the Port Adelaide Archives Collection as a “must-have’’ for supporters.

“This is more than just a book, with the collection capturing the remarkable history of the Port Adelaide Football Club like never before,’’ he said.

“Included are iconic images and amazing stories outlining the highs and lows across 150 years, as well as never-before-seen inserts such as replica medals and even the letter Bob McLean sent to Fos Williams 70 years ago to invite him to coach Port Adelaide.

“And as always our members and supporters are as much a part of this club as anyone.

“Our supporters have been integral since day one, so with that in mind, for the next month there is an opportunity for our people to upload supporter photos of themselves and their families to be included in this legacy publication forever.

“We are very proud of our history and look forward to sharing it with our people through this Archives Collection.”

Legendary Australian sports commentator Dennis Cometti said the book “chronicles just how a juggernaut from Alberton was created and how it was loved and loathed in equal measure’’.

“Every page gives insight into the people, the premierships, the politics and ultimately the Power at Australia’s most successful footy club,’’ he said.
