DUSTY READY TO TAKE SEPTEMBER BY STORM
As well as an AFL outfit with more than its share of finals experience, Hawthorn has a high-
flying women’s team and VFL outfit in finals action this weekend.
Star Hawks forward Jack Gunston said having a VFL and VFLW team in September would make the post-season three times the fun for Hawthorn supporters.
“All three of our teams are playing finals, so it’s a really exciting time for our footy club,’’ he said.
“This is also an amazing opportunity for many of our young players to experience their first ever finals series.’’
With Richmond clear favourites with bookies and footy tipsters for tonight’s AFL clash, Gunston said Hawthorn was enjoying underdog status and the thrill of playing finals at a packed MCG.
“Finals is the best time of year,’’ he said.
“The players work so hard to get to September and we know our supporters are behind us every step of the way.’’
