FREMANTLE has been handed a first-up chance in 2015 to get revenge on this year’s semi-final conqueror Port Adelaide, with the teams drawn to meet at Patersons Stadium in Round 1.

The AFL released its fixture for the opening round of next season, with the Dockers slated for a Sunday game on April 5 against the team that ended its premiership hopes in 2014.

Fremantle held a 31-point lead just before half-time in that game before a Robbie Gray-inspired Port came racing back to overrun the home side.

Meanwhile, West Coast will face the Western Bulldogs in a season-opening game for the third time in four years.

The Eagles travel to Victoria to take on Tom Boyd and the Dogs, with the game likely to be held on the afternoon or evening of Saturday, April 4.

In other Round 1 news, new Lion Dayne Beams will come face-to-face with his old side Collingwood, while traditional rivals Carlton and Richmond will also clash.
