Collingwood has confirmed it has signed promising duo Brayden Sier and Will Kelly for another two seasons.
The Herald Sun revealed in August Sier was staying until the end of 2021 before he was caught out playing social basketball under the pseudonym “Phil Inn”.
Sier, 21, was recovering from an injury at the time, breaking team rules.
The Pies described the incident as a “blue from a young player” and have maintained faith that a fully-fit Sier can become a key cog in the Collingwood midfield from next season.
He was excellent in the Pies’ 2018 Grand Final defeat to West Coast but lost his spot last season amid some injury issues.
Father-son selection Kelly also signed an early two-year early extension, keeping him at the club until the end of 2022.
Kelly, 19, played only four VFL games this year amid an ankle problem and a serious hamstring injury.
Collingwood list boss Ned Guy said the pair showed a lot of upside.
“We’ve seen some really positive signs from Brayden over the past couple of years and as he continues to grow and develop, he can play an important role in our midfield going forward,” Guy said.
“Will has joined the club and applied himself with upmost dedication and focus as he works on getting his body right to get back on the field, hopefully it won’t be long until our supporters can see what he’s capable of.
