THE Bulldogs have axed premiership midfielder Tom Liberatore as five big names return. Richmond has also swung the changes and St Kilda has sent a big-name forward to the VFL. FULL TEAMS

THE Western Bulldogs have axed premiership midfielder Tom Liberatore as five big names return including former Magpie Travis Cloke.

Liberatore had just one kick and seven handballs against the Eagles last week — the second-lowest disposal tally in his 106-game career. He has left out of the team for a must-win game against Geelong on Friday night. SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE FULL ROUND 9 TEAMS AND REPLAY THE LIVE SUPERCOACH CHAT Matthew Boyd (shoulder), Fletcher Roberts, Zane Cordy and Toby McLean are also out as the Dogs welcome back skipper Bob Murphy, Tory Dickson, Dale Morris, Cloke and Mitch Wallis — who hasn’t played since badly breaking his leg in Round 18 last year. Geelong has included Scott Selwood and Lachie Henderson at the expense of George Horlin-Smith and Rhys Stanley (ankle). VERDICT: HERALD SUN EXPERT TIPS RICHMOND has also made five changes in a bid to end its three-game losing streak. The Tigers have named top draft pick Shai Bolton for his AFL debut alongside Dion Prestia, Sam Lloyd, Connor Menadue and Ivan Soldo. Dan Butler will miss the game against GWS with groin soreness and Todd Elton, Oleg Markov, Corey Ellis and Jake Batchelor have been dropped. ST KILDA has also axed a big name with Josh Bruce sent back to the VFL to make way for Paddy McCartin’s return against Sydney. McCartin has kicked 18 goals in the past three weeks for Sandringham and will play at AFL level for the first time since Round 3. In other teams news, Sydney has regained Dane Rampe, Kurt Tippett and Gary Rohan, Dayne Beams is back for Brisbane and Adelaide has dropped Josh Jenkins and David Mackay, naming two debutants in Hugh Greenwood and Jordan Gallucci. Collingwood made one change, with Adam Treloar replacing Ben Reid (quad). Geelong coach Chris Scott said Scott Selwood was ready for his first game of the year after three games in the VFL following a toe injury. “He’s played enough in the VFL now, he’s really fit, we’ve made sure that we took our time and completed a really thorough rehab with him,” said Scott. “He’s a great runner, he’s a great athlete, there was no point putting him out there at AFL level if he couldn’t play to those strengths.” Scott said the Cats were keen to rebound from three disappointing losses. “There is a bit of a trap in the football industry to talk about this as being the most important game of the season when in reality the next one will be just as important as well,” Scott said on Thursday. “The logical way of looking at it is we haven’t performed at the standard that we aspire to and we’re determined to get back to that straight away. “We’d be extremely disappointed if our effort or intensity could be questioned on Friday night. “We’re confident that won’t be the case.”
