AFL Round 1 teams: Full line-ups and the best SuperCoach advice

EVERY AFL team has now named their Round 1 squads, with a host of new faces and some big-name Magpie recruits missing. See the line-ups and tweak your SuperCoach team.

TRAVIS Cloke will play his first game for the Western Bulldogs against Collingwood tomorrow night, but the Magpies’ recruiting hasn’t delivered such immediate results.

The Pies left out former Docker Chris Mayne, who was named as emergency alongside former Melbourne defender Lynden Dunn. High-profile recruit Daniel Wells is also missing as he recovers from a calf injury, but Will Hoskin-Elliott (GWS) and Henry Schade (Gold Coast) will make their Collingwood debuts. Jaeger O’Meara, Sam Mitchell and Jordan Lewis will all play their first games for new clubs this weekend, along with a host of fresh faces from last year’s draft. North Melbourne named six players for their first games in Kangaroos colours: Braydon Preuss, Declan Mountford, Mitch Hibberd, Jy Simpkin, former Bulldog Nathan Hrovat and ex-Collingwood defender Marley Williams. Last night, Carlon named four fresh faces for tonight’s blockbuster against Richmond. In a selection surprise, the Blues have named first round draft pick Sam Petrevski-Seton despite the forward/midfielder not playing a game throughout the JLT Series. Petrevski-Seton, 19, suffered a quad injury in early February which kept him sidelined throughout the second half of the pre-season. Caleb Marchbank, Jarrod Pickett and Billie Smedts will also play their first games in navy Blue. Carlton coach Brendon Bolton hinted on Thursday morning that Petrevski-Seton would be selected on the back of impressive practice match form. “He is fit and ready for selection, we have got to determine whether or not we go with that, he is ready for selection if we want to go with that,” Bolton said. “He is in the mix. He has had some good match practice here, (even though) he hasn’t played in the JLT.” Marchbank and Pickett have both come from the Giants while Smedts joined Carlton from Geelong. Meanwhile for Richmond, Dan Butler, Toby Nankervis, Josh Caddy and Dion Prestia will all play their first games in the yellow and black. Team: Carlton Backs L. Plowman, J. Weitering, K.
