BBL SuperCoach Locks for the 24/25 Season | Cricket Today

If you love playing SuperCoach AFL, you’re going to have a blast with SuperCoach BBL.

Enjoy a fast, fun version of SuperCoach with three trades per round over an action-packed nine-round season – the perfect warm-up for SuperCoach AFL 2025.

Starting your own SuperCoach BBL team is easy. You can access BBL from the main menu and use the same login as your existing SuperCoach account.

And a lot of the features of the fantasy games we know and love will feel very familiar – selecting a team, picking captains, watching price changes and Break Evens and planning your trades, and of course the banter with friends and rivals.

But there are some fun new features that you need to get your head around. Fortunately, that won’t take long. Here’s a quick guide.

TRADES

In SuperCoach BBL every coach has three trades per round (four if you activate one of two Trade Boosts available to every coach over the season) – so you’ll never run out.

WHO TO PICK

Your SuperCoach BBL squad is made up of 17 players who score points for real-life acts including runs, wickets and catches – seven batters (five on field, two on the bench), seven bowlers (five starters, two on bench), two wicketkeepers (one on field, one on the bench) and one Flex position.

Bowlers are traditionally more reliable scorers than pure batters, who can blast a huge score or be dismissed cheaply with few points to their name. Experienced coaches often select BAT-BWL dual-position players in many of the batting slots, while a WKP-BAT is a must in the wicketkeeping position.

All-rounders who can score via multiple avenues are SuperCoach gold – Melbourne Stars superstar Glenn Maxwell is the gold standard.

FLEX YOUR SUPERCOACH MUSCLE

The Flex is new to SuperCoach BBL for this summer and acts effectively as a 12th man for your fantasy cricket side. Your Flex player can be chosen from any position and can be substituted and traded each round. Each round of your 12 players selected on the field (including Flex) the best 11 scores will count towards your total, providing cover for late selection calls or events that are out of your control – cop a zero or a very low score and that will drop out of your weekly tally.

The Flex also opens the door to exciting new strategies – read more about that here.

FIXTURE

With BBL games played on every day of the week, the fantasy fixture looks a bit different to SuperCoach AFL.

The competition is split into nine rounds over the regular season, with 4-5 games in each round – and players will play twice in some rounds. When this happens, you’ll receive those players’ combined score from all games in any single rounds where they play multiple times.

The schedule will play a key role in your selection and trade strategy – target players from teams that feature twice in a round, and dodge single-round players and byes!

Keep a close eye on when each round ends and the next one starts – sometimes you have to make trade calls fast!

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS

In AFL it’s panic stations after all team lists are released on Thursdays. In the BBL teams usually announce a squad about 24 hours before they play, with the starting XI locked in at the bat toss an hour before the game begins. Keep an eye on social media and watch for the green dots in the SuperCoach platform to get the latest on player availability.

PLAYER MOVEMENT

The international cricket calendar plays a big role in player availability – the likes of Steve Smith and Travis Head are contracted to BBL teams and can be selected in SuperCoach BBL, but they are unlikely to play many matches in the tournament. Meanwhile, some big import signings will miss BBL fixtures when they clash with international commitments. For example, the third New Zealand v England Test coincides with the opening round of the BBL season – so don’t bring in England stand-in captain and star Adelaide Strikers signing Ollie Pope until round 2.

Stay tuned for more intel on who to pick in your team this season!
