We look back at the top SuperCoach scorers from last season

We’ve crunched the numbers to name the top-100 SuperCoach scores from 2018 but who can repeat their heroics and who will disappoint their owners. Check out the top scorers by total and average.

Picking a SuperCoach team made easy

SuperCoach 2019 is open for business.

We’ve crunched the numbers from last season to name the top 100 scorers in terms of raw numbers and average.

How many can repeat their performances and remain at the top of the scorers list this season and who will burn their owners with disappointment.

SUPERCOACH TOP 10

BRODIE GRUNDY ($708,200, Ruck)

A remarkable finish to 2018 saw Brodie Grundy claim the No.1 SuperCoach scorer title and the highest price tag in 2019. One of the few players in the competition who can score 150s without breaking a sweat. The only reason you wouldn’t pick him before Round 1 is if you believe he’ll drop in price. But why bother when you can just pick him now?

TOM MITCHELL ($700,800, Mid)

Yes, we know he’s out for the entire season but hear us out. Mitchell’s absence leaves a staggering 2840 points on the table at Hawthorn and if you can find the man to claim the majority of those you’ll be well placed to potentially claim $50,000. Jaeger O’Meara looms the most likely but don’t discount the likes of Liam Shiels and young gun James Worpel.

MAX GAWN ($692,100, Ruck)

The Melbourne star has been a rolled gold SuperCoach ruckman for several seasons now and should be a safe pick again in 2019, especially with some favourable rule changes coming in. But can you pick both Grundy and Gawn? If not, which one do you chose? Gawn’s consistency might just make him the better option.

Carlton superstar Patrick Cripps.

PATRICK CRIPPS ($648,200, Mid)

A breakout SuperCoach season in 2018 as Cripps posted a career-best average of 119. He also played 22 games for the first time in his career. It all bodes well for 2019 with Carlton surely set to improve and Cripps the undoubted No.1 midfielder. If he could add a few goals to his game, he’d elevate his game to the Dangerfield, Ablett, Fyfe stratosphere.

PATRICK DANGERFIELD ($660,500, Mid-Fwd)

Thank you, Chris Scott. The Cats coach’s decision to use Dangerfield as a forward in 2018 has seen the SuperCoach god gain dual position status in 2019. He would have been a popular pick as a midfielder alone but as a midfield-forward chances are he’ll be in close to 100 per cent of teams come Round 1.

CLAYTON OLIVER ($622,600, Mid)

Few players have exploded onto the SuperCoach scene the way Oliver has. The Demons young gun averaged 70 in his debut season before skyrocketing to 111 in his second and 114 in his third. As reliable a scorer as they come because he wins his possessions at the coalface and if he doesn’t win it, chances are he’s tackling the bloke who did.

JAKE LLOYD ($608,200, Def)

The only defender in the top 10 after a dazzling season off Sydney’s half-back flank. Lloyd averaged a midfield-like 112 in 2018 after the new kick-in rules might actually help him up that score again. Not too many at Sydney taking points off him either.

LACHIE NEALE ($607,300, Mid)

Is there a better under-the-radar option than Neale? The Fremantle-turned-Brisbane onballer has been a perennial top SuperCoach scorer and now brings his talents to the Gabba, where he’s unlikely to get tagged thanks to Dayne Zorko. One of the safest picks in SuperCoach.

JACK MACRAE ($689,700, Mid)

The Bulldogs star has been a solid if unspectacular SuperCoach option for several years but took his game to a new level in 2018, averaging 127, good enough for fourth overall. The big question coming into 2019 is, can he back it up? Luke Beveridge’s ever-changing gameplan makes any Bulldog hard to trust.

ELLIOT YEO ($585,500, Mid)

A midfielder only this year after losing his dual position status as a defender. However, the Eagles all-rounder has shown he’s got the SuperCoach game to mix it with the big boys. Yeo was the No.10 SuperCoach scorer last year, averaging 107 in 22 games, with 15 tons and just two scores below 80.
