KFC SuperCoach Round 7 rage trades: Marc Pittonet, Connor Rozee and Devon Smith on chopping block
Devon Smith scored just 71 KFC SuperCoach points in Round 7 — and that was his best score since Round 2. What do almost 100,000 players do with the Bombers forward? This week’s rage trades plus Champion Data market watch.

Round 7 brought our first KFC SuperCoach double hundred of the season, but no one would have predicted the player that it came from — Western Bulldogs ruckman Tim English.
We saw Izak Rankine continue his heroics for our SuperCoach sides, making us a swag of cash, with promises of more to come.
Lachie Neale succumbed to the Matt de Boer tag (again) and scored under 100 for the first time this season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: TIM ENGLISH
English racked up 136 of his 204 KFC SuperCoach points in the first half last against Essendon to join an elite club that has topped 200 points. He recorded 22 disposals, 17 contested possessions, four contested marks, six clearances and one goal. English also recorded seven hitouts-to-advantage to cap off a best afield display.

Patrick Cripps
Cripps didn’t have a major impact in Carlton’s loss to the Power, scoring 85 KFC SuperCoach points. Using the ball effectively is a major part of the SuperCoach scoring formula and Cripps’ ball use was costly, hitting the target with just one of seven kicks – posting his equal-lowest kicking efficiency (14 per cent) in any match on record. Cripps also failed to hit the scoreboard for the second match in a row – involved in just one scoring chain.
Patrick Dangerfield
Despite scoring 127 KFC SuperCoach points last round, Dangerfield’s score would have been much higher had he hit targets by foot – posting the second-lowest kicking efficiency in any match this season (39 per cent). He finished with 23 disposals, 14 contested possessions, three centre clearances and four tackles.
Christian Petracca
In his most complete performance of the season, Petracca racked up a career-high 160 KFC SuperCoach points to go with an equal career-high 29 disposals. He won 16 of his possessions in a contest, and also generated four clearances. He kicked one goal and his impact forward of centre was excellent – recording five score assists and 14 score involvements.
YOUNG GUN: NOAH ANDERSON
Anderson has been building slowly – scoring a season-high 93 points in the win over the Swans – rising in price by a further $17,300. He finished with 15 disposals, 369 metres gained, nine uncontested possessions, three intercept possessions and three tackles. Anderson also kicked a goal and was involved in a season-high seven scoring chains.
Boot Him
Marc Pittonet $403,900 RUC 32 pts
Carlton big man Marc Pittonet has to go now. He had a perfect opportunity this week up against inexperienced Power ruckman Peter Ladhams but couldn’t get the job done. We were hoping he wouldn’t drop too much so we could get a cheap swap to Gawn but it all went horribly.
Jack Steven $313,600 FWD-MID 67 pts
Many thought the former Saint was back with a 95 in Round 5, but after a week off and a score of 67 we can officially rule a line through him as a KFC SuperCoach player for 2020. Unfortunately he just hasn’t been able to score to the level many paid to start with him and it is time to cut Steven loose.
Tom Lynch $344,000 FWD 30 pts
Even with a broken hand and a score of 42 last week there were 7 per cent of teams that still had Lynch. He has had just two scores of more than 65 this season and only one was triple figures. We do say it year after year that key forwards are far too risky to have in your team. You need to trade him out … now!
Stefan Martin $323,000 RUC 46 pts
This just isn’t Martin’s year, yet there are still too many teams that he features in. He hasn’t scored more than 60 and doesn’t look like doing so. Add to that spending just 62 per cent time on ground this week, compared to his ruck partner Oscar McInerney (78%).
Connor Budarick $223,000 MID-FWD 42 pts
Not often we put a rookie in this section but he is owned by 54.4% of KFC Supercoaches and after his score of 42 was less than his break even of 54 it is time to cut him loose before he loses too much more value. This is what we have to do with our rookies and given the difficulty we have making money in a short season we can’t afford to hold on to them too long after they reach this point.

Brandon Starcevich $257,700 DEF-MID 51 pts
Another rookie who has a high ownership at 45.5 per cent coming into his game over the weekend against GWS Giants. He missed his high break even of 93 and is really going to drop in value fast. However, he could be one that you may want to strategically hold as he has a valuable DEF-MID dual-position eligibility. This can open up some trading options and if you have paired him with Trent Rivers you can swing them around depending on circumstances.
Connor Rozee $334,300 FWD 34 pts
After a great start to the season Rozee hasn’t been able to maintain anywhere near the same level of scoring and has dropped dramatically, with this being his second lowest score of the season so far. Since Round 2 he hasn’t been over 60 and you can’t afford to hold him any longer.
Brodie Smith $431,600 DEF $431,600 13 pts
Smith had a horrible night against the Saints and he was tagged by Jarryn Geary. He had just 12 touches, but recorded an incredible nine clangers and he went at only 41 per cent efficiency. This would have really hurt those who were relying on him for league wins. He had been serviceable in the previous four weeks, with his top score of the year in Round 6. But you may want to consider his position in your team as he’s going to lose value fast now.

Devon Smith $382,700 FWD-MID 71 pts
After two tons to start the season, this was his best score since, which is a huge concern for his owners. He doesn’t seem to be getting the amount of midfield time that coaches would like and this is hurting his ability to get big enough scores.
Injury Watch!
Joel Selwood $505,800 MID 10 pts
Selwood was done before quarter time with a hamstring issue. He indicated it was not a bad one and the Cats are optimistic he won’t be sidelined for long. But with the compressed schedule coming up, they may not want to risk him for Round 8.
Jy Simpkin $533,800 FWD-MID 57 pts
Simpkin rolled an ankle early in the game and had treatment on it during both the first and second quarters. Keep an eye on the injury reports during the week to see if he will come up for next weekend’s game. Like Selwood, the Roos may not want to put too much stress on their young star with the compressed fixture coming up.
Jordan De Goey $436,500 FWD 151 pts
A bittersweet game for De Goey’s owners. He had a massive score but it has come at a massive cost. Word circulated on Friday that he will miss the rest of the home-and-away season after requiring tendon surgery on his right middle finger.

Tim English $600,100 RUC 204 pts
Hard not to include a guy that gets over 200 points in a game! English is having a great season and this match certainly showed that he does have the ability to go very big. Beware though, he was up against Andrew Phillips from the Bombers who isn’t considered the toughest ruck competition.
Adam Treloar $628,700 MID 158 pts
I can’t believe that Treloar finds himself in just 2 per cent of teams. This has to change as he has now scored 119, 122 and 158. He is a ball magnet. He was shunned in previous seasons as he was not using the ball well but he seems to have overcome this and is scoring big regularly. If you want him, you better be fast as his price is only headed in one direction …. Up!
Hugh Greenwood $557,800 FWD-MID 144 pts
Greenwood hasn’t been under 125 in the last three weeks and is really at home in the Suns’ midfield. He has really picked up more of the footy since Matt Rowell went down. He is still relatively cheap, but he won’t stay that way for long. He is in 12 per cent of teams at the moment but that number will rise quickly.
Shaun Higgins $491,100 MID 182 pts
If we see Jack Ziebell and Ben Cunnington out of the side for extended periods through injury then the door is left wide open for Higgins to walk right through and scoop up the KFC SuperCoach points on offer. He could be well worth a look despite being on many never again lists.

Luke Parker $541,900 MID 141 pts
With no JPK or Heeney in the Swans midfield this has left a lot of footy for Luke Parker to collect. This week represented his fifth score over 110 and he has had only one poor score which was in that low scoring game against Richmond last week. He could be a handy pick-up.
James Sicily $520,000 DEF 149 pts
Sicily has gone down about as far as he will in price since his disappointing (if you owned him) 44 a few weeks ago and will start to rise now with two scores over 130. He is back to the role we love from him, down back and taking plenty of intercept marks. He is well on his way to being a top-six defender and will be a must in your KFC SuperCoach team.
Tom Doedee $433,000 DEF $433,000 124 pts
Doedee has now had three in a row over 100 and he certainly stepped up as the stand-in captain this week. His price has just ticked over $400k and if you are considering bringing him in then, this week would be the time as he will continue rising sharply over the next few weeks toward premium price.

Rookie Watch
For this section we classify a Rookie as anyone cheaper than $250k to start the season.
You may want to trade these rookies in if you don’t have them:
Derek Eggmolesse-Smith 119 – This was nearly double his first score from last week and came out of nowhere. With all of the Tigers that are missing from the team at the moment and a game like this one you would have to think that he is a chance to stay in the side for a little longer. Long enough to earn us some great money.
Marlion Pickett 105 – This was his best score of the season and it was the score that owners have been waiting for. He was dropped a few weeks ago but this should see him stay in the side now.
Izak Rankine 102 – He picked up where he left off last week. He was heavily traded in last week and if you missed him you may still want to grab him as he will have a great negative break even for a couple of weeks to come.
