The Giants claimed the first win on Sunday before St Kilda held off a brave Richmond at Norwood Oval. Collingwood and Hawthorn are closing out the round at Adelaide Oval.

Follow the action all day plus SuperCoach scores and analysis here.

7:55pm: FULL-TIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

A quiet last quarter from Nick Daicos as Jai Newcombe and James Sicily almost lifted the Hawks to a big upset.

7:46pm: PIES WIN – JUST

Hawthorn was surging hard but that old Collingwood close game magic was enough for Collingwood to dodge a massive Gather Round bullet.

7:40pm: NO WAY

Hawthorn is within four points with under four minutes left after kicking the last five goals of the match.

They streamed forward again from the centre bounce and Connor MacDonald missed a shot that would have put them in front.

Can they pull off a massive Gather Round heist?

7:21pm: STOP THE PRESSES: GINNIVAN WINS A FREE

Jack Ginnivan gets a free kick for a hold and a 50m penalty, and boots his second goal of the day.

Now he’s enjoying a push and shove with his former teammates.

And the packed crowd at Adelaide Oval is loving every second of it.

Margin 14 points. Get that popcorn out!

7:20pm: HAWKS SWINGMAN TAKING OVER

Blake Hardwick has never kicked more than three goals in a season over his nine-year AFL career.

The former defender now has four goals since halftime – plus a poster – as Hawthorn keeps things interesting, reducing the margin from 38 points at halftime to 20 early in the final term.

7:11pm: THREE QUARTER-TIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

More theatre late in the term with Jack Ginnivan giving away a 50m penalty then going unrewarded after what looked like clear interference from his Magpie opponent. Jack Riewoldt called it the “mayo tax”.

In SuperCoach Nick Daicos isn’t going to reach his Break Even of 178 but Hawthorn dropped the tag at halftime, and an 11-disposal third term, including a clever goal, will help him consign his 41-point game against the Hawks last year to the dustbin of history.

6:57pm: IS DE GOEY BACK?

Jordan De Goey has been way off the boil this season, averaging 58 SuperCoach points over the first four rounds – a drop of almost 40 points from his 2023 numbers.

But he has his moji back today with an equal game-high 23 disposals and game-high 94 SuperCoach points late in the third quarter.

With a Break Even of 159 he’s due for another price drop after this round and could be a player to put on your watch list after the Magpies’ round 5 bye.’

6.40pm: PENDLES SUBBED OUT

Scott Pendlebury will sit out the second half after copping an errant knee in the opening stanza, with Steele Sidebottom coming into the game.

Nick Daicos and John Noble combined for a cheeky 1-2-1-2-1 to open the second half, and on behalf of owners everywhere: more of those cheap touches please, Nick.

6:20pm: HALFTIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

It’s one-way traffic at Adelaide Oval with Collingwood cruising to a 38-point halftime lead despite having just three more inside-50s.

Nick Daicos (50) has his nose in front of Finn Maginness (47) in SuperCoach terms, while Tom Mitchell winds back the clock.

Just the 25 points for popular defender Massimo D’Ambrosio.

5:51pm: FULL-TIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

Richmond pushed the Saints all the way to the line – including two snaps at goal in the final minutes that were ruled touched the boot by the video reviewer – but St Kilda claims an important win by seven points.

Jack Steele led from the front with 33 disposals and 10 tackles. What a win for new Tom Brown owners!

5:45pm: QUARTER-TIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

First break at the Adelaide Oval and anyone who faded Nick Daicos due to this matchup will be telling they told us so. Daicos has 19 points at the first change, while Massimo D’Ambrosio is yet to crack into double figures with nine points. Tom Mitchell (41) leads all comers on the back of 10 touches and four tackles in the opening term, with grand final hero Billy Frampton also in the 40s.

5:36pm: GINNI v PIES: PASS THE POPCORN

Jack Ginnivan has been taken high in the forward 50 by Pat Lipinski and was handed a free kick.

Ginni gave some chat back to Pat and then slotted the goal from 35 out. Incredible theatre.

5:35pm: BONNER LAUNCHES

Riley Bonner sets sail from long range and clears the pack on the goal line. He’s been excellent again today with 24 disposals and 92 SuperCoach points.

5:34pm: CRUEL BLOW FOR YOUNG TIGER

Kane McAuliffe has been super impressive since being injected into the game but he has been helped off by trainers with what looks like a bad ankle injury.

It would be another cruel injury for the Tigers who already have one of the AFL’s longest injury lists.

5:25pm: NICK DAICOS TAG WATCH

Under way at the Adelaide Oval, and while Cam McKenzie is lining up on Nick Daicos at the first centre bounce, Finn Maginness is right by his side the second he’s allowed to be in the squares

5:15pm: THREE QUARTER-TIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

Wow what a quarter. St Kilda turned a 22-point deficit into an eight-point lead with the help of a Jack Higgins goal after the Saints went coast to coast with less than 10 seconds left in the term.

Richmond did have some highlights that quarter in the form of a big Shai Bolton contested grab and long goal – his fourth for the game – but most of the traffic was going the other way.

Richmond has made its sub with Thomson Dow (ankle) replaced by debutant Kane McAuliffe.

4:50pm: HERE COME THE SAINTS

It’s a totally dfifferent game after halftime and a totally different St Kilds.

TheSaints are winning all the key contests and the ball is living in the Saints’ forward line – they have 13 inside-50s to Richmond’s two for the half.

And they are finally hitting the scoreboard as a goal to Anthony Caminiti cuts the margin to one point.

4:30pm: PIES’ BIG SUB CALL

Final teams are in for the last game of Gather Round, and there are no late changes for either Hawthorn or Collingwood.

But the Pies have made a big call by naming 330-game veteran Steele Sidebottom as the starting sub. The Hawks’ sub in Henry Hustwaite.

4:25pm: HALFTIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

Jacob Koschitzke answers Higgins’ goal with one of his own after the siren to give the Tigers a 22-point buffer at halftime.

Dustin Martin winding back the clock with 20 disposals for the half and Shai Bolton has been electric with two goals from his 11 touches, while Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has 14 disposals (13 kicks) at 86 per cent efficiency.

4:18pm: SAINTS BREAK DUCK

Jack Higgins kicks St Kilda’s first goal of the game with 30 seconds to play until halftime – avoiding the Saints’ first goalless half in 37 years.

The crazy thing is the they are only 16 points down.

4:12pm: TOM BROWN BULLET

Not much happening on the scoreboard this quarter but the 17,000 SuperCoaches who traded in Richmond youngster Tom Brown will be enjoying what they’re seeing.

He let rip with a set shot at goal from 60m out and just missed, then gathered a loose ball in defence and chiselled an absolute dart of a pass off the outside of his boot to Dustin Martin on the wing.

Luke Darcy was clearly impressed in commentary: “That was elite!”

Brown has 27 SuperCoachpoints to his name.

4:04pm: SAINTS STILL SEARCHING

Max King sprays a set shot wide and after seven minutes of the second term St Kilda is yet to register a goal. The Saints’ score reads 0.5 (5).

At least they lead this quarter 0.1 (1) to 0.0 (0).

UPDATE: King lets fly again and this one sails way wide and out of bounds on the full.

3:50pm: QUARTER-TIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

The first quarter was all Richmond with Shai Bolton lighting up Norwood Oval at both ends of the ground. He’s getting handy support from the guy in No.4, too.

Jack Steele the best of the Saints with eight disposals and five contested possessions.

3:35pm: TIGERS MAKE HOT START

Maurice Rioli Jr gets reward for his pressure when a turnover bounces back into Richmond’s forward 50 and he takes a strong contested mark, then finishes nicely.

Mykelti Lefau has added a nice set shot then Shai Bolton kicks two in a row as the Tigers make a hot start in the bright sunshine in the Adelaide Hills. He has bolted to 33 SuperCoach points to lead all players.

3:15pm: GIANTS WIN

Five goals from Toby Greene and four to Jesse Hogan get GWS home by 28 points. First bounce for Tigers v Saints is just minutes away.

3:10pm: DUSTY READY TO ROLL

Richmond has made four changes to the team that defeated Sydney last week, losing Tom Lynch and Noah Balta to injury and Liam Baker to suspension. Sam Banks was ommitted.

But they have one handy inclusion in Dustin Martin, who could command the forward line at Norwood today.

3:03pm: SAM CLOHESY TON!

Raise the bat. Gold Coast first-gamer Sam Clohesy has hit 100 SuperCoach points.

3:00pm: SUNS WON’T LIE DOWN

Just when it looked like GWS had finally put the game to bed Noah Anderson bobs up with a goal to cut the margin to 11 points with seven minutes to play.

2:40pm: THREE QUARTER-TIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

Fans at Mount Barker are getting their money’s worth with an entertaining contest featuring a number of lead changes. The Giants have the edge with a quarter to play but you sense there are some big points on the table in the final term.

2:32pm: GWS ROOKIE SUBBED OFF

The Giants have activated their sub in the shadows of three-quarter time, with James Peatling replacing Harvey Thomas.

2:30pm: GREENE IN MRO STRIFE?

GWS captain Toby Greene could be in trouble for a dump tackle on Gold Coast’s Mac Andrew.

Greene has played a starring role for the Giants at Mount Barker on the last day of Gather Round, kicking four goals in three quarters.

His fourth came after he won a free kick after Andrew flung him to the ground in retaliation after Greene slammed the Sun into the ground.

Brownlow Medallist Gerard Healy said Andrew should have won a free kick.

“This was a dangerous tackle, this should have been a free kick,” he said on Fox Footy.

“But like Justin Longmuir said about his boys last night, you have to wear them and let the umpire make the decision.

“Otherwise this happens and potentially you thinking about yourself costs your club the four points.”

– Simeon Thomas-Wilson

2:20pm: SUBS NAMED FOR TIGERS v SAINTS

Final team sheets are in for the second Sunday match and there are no late changes.

Kane McAuliffe will start as the sub in his first AFL game, while St Kilda has named second-game Angus Hastie as its sub.

1:42pm: HALFTIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

“The Weapon” Matt Rowell took over in that quarter, but the big story is debutant Sam Clohesy who is the second-highest scoring player on the ground as the Giants take a one-point lead into halftime.

1:30pm: SUNS ROOKIE TO THE RESCUE

Pencil Sam Clohesy into your SuperCoach black book.

The 21-year-old defender, priced at just $102k in SuperCoach, is making an instant impact in his first AFL game with eight disposals and his first goal.

He has cracked the half ton in SuperCoach with nine minutes to play in the first half.

1:20pm: GIANT STAR EYESIGHT CARE
Lachie Whitfield is off the ground and doctors are assessing his vision assessed.

Ben Dixon on Fox Footy reports the GWS medicos have been doing tests on the star defender’s eyesight since quarter-time.

He has been averaging 117 SuperCoach points a game this season and was traded in to almost 4000 teams this week.

He currently has 21 SuperCoach points.

UPDATE: Whitfield has returned to the field after a long break.

1:05pm: QUARTER-TIME SUPERCOACH LEADERS

The Giants made all the early running but Gold Coast steadied late. Sam Flanders enjoying a new role off half-back and $102k rookie Sam Clohesy has made a promising start to his AFL career with 22 points in the first quarter.

There are no late changes for the first game of the final day of Gather Round and the Suns’ three debutants – Ethan Read, Sam Clohesy and Will Graham – have all dodged the sub vest.

Veteran David Swallow is Gold Coast’s sub while the Giants’ sub is James Peatling.

The first-gamers will be a close watch for SuperCoaches especially Graham ($117k MID/DEF) and bottom-priced Clohesy ($102k DEF) who was recruited in the rookie draft as a 21-year-old from Werribee in the VFL.
