SuperCoach AFL stats dossier: Full CBAs, kick-ins, time on ground for round 8

Why we should ignore Jack Sinclair’s low SuperCoach score, and pay attention to Josh Daicos. See the big CBA and kick-in movers and sliders in round 8 and search every player.

Lions claim top spot after QClash win

Jack Sinclair has dropped three scores under 100 in SuperCoach, but the role is exactly what fantasy coaches want to see.

After experimenting with his centre square mix in recent weeks, Ross Lyon sent Sinclair and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera back into defence against the Dockers.

Both attended zero centre bounces in round 8, with Lyon handing responsibility to Hugo Garcia (18 CBAs), Hugh Boxshall (nine), while Mitch Owens (two) and Darcy Wilson (one) also had a crack.

The result for Sinclair was 20 disposals off half-back at 100 per cent efficiency, and you can buy him this week for $533,500, almost $60,000 under his starting price despite averaging 110 points a game.

One factor that held him back on Friday night – Fremantle kicked just three behinds for the game. He took two of those kick-ins, with Wanganeen-Milera claiming the other.

Champion Data’s exclusive weekly stat report also reveals another option in defence – Josh Daicos has a three-round average of 112.7 and took over kick-in duties on Saturday night. He took eight, playing on from all of them. But the Pies’ No.1 kick-in taker this season, Jeremy Howe, was managed against the Cats.

The report also reveals a spread of kick-in takers is hurting Jayden Short’s numbers at Richmond – against Hawthorn he was one of seven players to take a kick-in, Harvey Langford stepped into Clayton Oliver’s midfield role with 42 per cent CBAs, and Toby Travaglia joined the small club of players to get 0 per cent time on ground after being the unused sub for the Saints. Elijah Tsatas played a full game on his return for Essendon but his time on ground was just 60 per cent.
