The best sporting icon to come out of Temora since pacer Paleface Adios, Breust almost floats from contest to contest as he dissects his opposition.

His sublime skills see him top of the pops for Round 16, although a ball-winner of a different style in Clayton Oliver was a close second.

Indeed, Breust aside, it was a round of on-ballers given Dayne Beams, Andrew Gaff and Geelong pair Joel Selwood and Mitch Duncan were all architects of their teams’ successes.
That’s why it was a pleasure to watch the work of 32-year-old Scott Thompson who is at his 2013 levels when he won North Melbourne’s best-and-fairest.
In the rucking world the same two names bobbed up again in Brodie Grundy and Max Gawn, making it all the more interesting to see how this pair fares on Brownlow night.
And what about Eric Hipwood, the tallest member of Brisbane’s new wave that hopefully takes the Lions back up the ladder?
