MARQUEE Swans go missing, Freo forwards wayward early while key Dockers sore ahead of the club's first AFL Grand Final.

SICK, SORRY SWANS

BLUE-CHIP Sydney midfielders Ryan O'Keefe and Kieren Jack were hardly sighted last night when the Swans needed them most.

Fremantle stopper Ryan Crowley blanketed Jack (11 disposals) while O'Keefe hobbled to 17 possessions, a week after copping a knock to the back of his right leg.

Meanwhile, speedster Lewis Jetta, emerging midfielder Craig Bird and Daniel Hannebery were among a number of Swans unable to make an impact at a hostile Patersons Stadium.

POOR GOALKICKING...AGAIN

FREMANTLE will be lauded for it's intensity and pressure on Sydney's ball carriers.

But the Docker forwards left a lot to be desired in a dominant - and hotly contested - first quarter kicking nine behinds.

A repeat against the all-conquering Hawks on Saturday could have a devastating effect on the Dockers' premiership prospects.

But in the interest of fairness, Hawthorn was similarly wayward last night slotting 18 behinds in its narrow win over Geelong at the MCG.

SORE DOCKERS

THE Dockers rocketed into premiership calculations on the back of a withering second quarter demolition of Sydney.

But how much of an impact did the battle of attrition have on the Grand Final-bound Dockers?

Key defender Luke McPharlin was nursed through the match managing an adductor problem and calf tightness, while All Australian flanker Michael Johnson also received treatment on his troublesome calf.

Speedster Danyle Pearce also spent time off the ground after a knock to the shin.

HEY JUDE, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

SWANS veteran Jude Bolton deserved to go out a winner.

Unfortunately for the tough as they come midfielder it was not to be as Fremantle ran Sydney ragged to book its spot in Saturday's Grand Final.

Bolton finished with nine disposals and a goal in his 325th game for the Bloods.

He was chaired off the ground with fans and players from both teams showing their appreciation.

Bolton was central to the Swans victorious 2005 and 2012 premiership campaigns.
