Majak Daw has found a new home where he’ll link with an old teammate.

North Heidelberg, where North Melbourne legend and AFL games record holder Brent Harvey plays, announced Daw’s signing on Sunday night.

The Bulldogs, who play in Division 1 of the Northern Football League in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, had been linked with the 29-year-old after he was delisted.

Daw will play alongside former teammate Harvey and his brother Anthony, who signed with North Heidelberg in December last year before suburban football was called off for 2020.

“We view the arrival of Majak as a big plus for the club as we look to consolidate in Division 1 of the NFNL after our third position finish in season 2019,” the club said.

The Bulldogs said playing with his brother had been a “big lure” for Daw.

Daw finished with 54 AFL games after making an inspiring return last year when he recovered from a fall from the Bolte Bridge.

The Herald Sun reported in November Daw could seek a second club during the SPP period, but he has instead opted to continue his career in suburban football.

He was one of 11 North Melbourne players cut at the end of a disastrous 2020 campaign as the club embarked on a major list rejuvenation.

North Heidelberg is coached by another former AFL player, ex-St Kilda and West Coast forward Jason Heatley.
