Emerging Hawks key forward Mitch Lewis will inherit the number of four-time premiership star Jarryd Roughead.
Roughead took the youngster under his wing since he joined the club three years ago with his famous No.2 appropriately passed on to him.
Lewis kept the retired veteran out of the side at times last season, taking considerable strides in cementing a spot in the Hawks best-22. He booted 20 goals across 12 games including a three-goal haul in Round 18 which earnt him a Rising Star nomination.
The move will be the 21-year-old’s third number change in as many seasons, previously wearing No.8 and No.39.

Sam Frost will take over Lewis’ former in the brown and gold while fellow recruit Jonathon Patton will adopt the No.25 vacated by Ryan Schoenmakers.
Meanwhile, first round draftee Will Day (No.30) and father-son Finn Maginess (No.35) also received their jumper numbers.
Father-son Roo Bailey Scott has been handed his dad’s No.8 guernsey.
The youngster headlined North Melbourne’s number changes, moving from the No.30 to the number his father played 113 games in - including the 1996 premiership.
Draftee Charlie Comben will take on Scott’s number while off-season recruits Aiden Bonar (No.16) and Josh Walker (19) will take on the guernseys of retired Roos Scott Thompson and Sam Wright respectively.
The Power has announced the numbers for their fresh draftees and their new stand-alone skipper, with Tom Jonas moving from No.42 to No.1. Draftee Miles Bergman, the 14th selection in the national draft, aptly received the No.14 guernsey, while father-son selections Jackson Mead (No.44) and Trent Burgoyne (No.31) received their Power numbers.

Melbourne has unveiled its new guernsey numbers for 2020 with its first draft choice taking on the number left vacant by four-time premiership star Jordan Lewis.
Luke Jackson will don the No.6 in his first season after being taken with the third pick overall in last month’s AFL Draft.
Fellow first round draftee Kysaiah Pickett was given No.36, worn previously by indigenous livewires Jeff Garlett and Aaron Davey. The shoe fits considering the small forward plays in a similar manner to the pair and has an indigenous background himself.
New Demon Adam Tomlinson will wear the same No.20 that he wore in 140 games for the Giants before crossing to Gosch’s Paddock as a free agent, while former Docker Ed Langdon will run out in the No.15.
Star midfielder Tim Kelly has been handed the guernsey number of former Eagles Brownlow Medallist Matt Priddis.
The prized recruit will run out for West Coast in the No.11, the same number he wore during his two seasons at the Cats.
No Eagle has worn the No.11 guernsey since Matt Priddis retired at the end of 217 following an illustrious 240-game career.

The former Cat took to Instagram to announce his number, recognising the significance of the No.11 at the Eagles.
“So pumped and excited to be wearing this number!! A massive honour knowing who wore it before me and can’t wait to make it my own,” Kelly said on the post.
Kelly was one of the biggest names to change clubs in the trade period, with the Eagles giving up a host of picks to lure the homesick Western Australian.
The Lions handed out numbers to their new draftees with Luke Hodge’s No.2 passed on to draft slider Deven Robertson.
The tough midfielder was the only player invited to the first night of the draft to be left on the board, with Brisbane trading with Port Adelaide to land the youngster at pick No.22.
Fellow draftee Brock Smith will wear the prized No.1 guernsey made famous by Fitzroy’s Paul Roos, who played 269 games in it.
Meanwhile, Richmond premiership player Jacob Townsend will don the No.20 for his new club.
The tough forward received a Bomber lifeline via the supplemental selection period on Wednesday but was unable to receive the the same No.21 he wore at the Tigers, with skipper Dyson Heppell firmly holding onto it.
New ruckman Andrew Phillips had more luck, taking on the No.34 that he wore for Carlton, while former Lion Tom Cutler will wear No.12
Essendon’s first selection at the 2019 AFL Draft Harrison Jones - a lifelong Bombers fan - will take on No.23 vacated by retired midfielder David Myers.
The Bulldogs have announced their new jumper numbers with Alex Keath retaining the No.42 he wore at the Crows.
Former Saint Josh Bruce will don No.17, made famous by Brownlow Medallist Adam Cooney and before that Nathan Brown.
Prized first round draftee Cody Weightman will take on No.19.
Meanwhile, Jack Martin will wear one of Carlton’s most famous numbers in 2020.
The Blues have revealed the numbers their recruits will wear next season, with former Gold Coast Sun Martin handed the No.21 worn by legend Craig Bradley.
But the number has a mixed history. From 1964 until 2002 it was worn by three players for a combined 723 games — Barry Gill (132), Rod Austin (216) and Bradley (375).

It was inherited by Troy Longuir (11 games), who was followed by Mark Austin (15), Josh Bootsma (14), Ciaran Sheehan (2) and Jarrod Garlett (13).
In other Blues jumper news, Brodie Kemp’s No.17 jumper will match his spot in the draft order, Marc Pittonet will wear the same number he did at Hawthorn (27) and rookie Fraser Phillips inherits Dale Thomas’s No.39.
Carlton had already revealed Eddie Betts will wear No.19 again after his return to Ikon Park.

At Tigerland, Richmond revealed father-son Patrick Naish will wear the same number his father Chris wore for the Tigers in the 90s.
The 20-year-old has been promoted from No.45 No.6. His dad Chris Naish played 143 games and booted 212 goals in the No.6 across eight seasons for the Tigers.
Premiership Tigers Liam Baker and Ivan Soldo have also changed their guernsey numbers, and the number change for the latter is fitting. Soldo has moved from No.47 to No.20 — the number previously held by older cousin Ivan Maric — while Liam Baker will wear No.7 next season, filling the vacancy left by traded forward Dan Butler.
The Tigers first-round draft selection Thomson Dow will don the No.27 guernsey in his first season at the club.
Meanwhile, Collingwood draftee Jay Rantall has become the latest youngster to receive the revered No. 35 guernsey.
The number, commemorating former Pies defender Simon Prestigiacomo, has been passed down each year to Collingwood’s first selection on draft night since 2010.
The honour recognises his noble decision to stand down from the 2010 Grand Final side due to a groin injury.
Gold Coast has given out its new numbers with ex-Richmond premiership player Brandon Ellis wearing the No.4 at his new club.
Prized draftees Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson will run out in the No.18 and No.15 respectively, while fellow first round selection Sam Flanders will wear No.26.
Geelong has revealed its new jumper numbers for next year, with Jack Stevens taking Zac Smith’s No.9 and Josh Jenkins to wear No.11 vacated by Tim Kelly.
The Cats top draft pick Cooper Stephens will wear No. 12, worn last season by Wylie Buzza.

Blues skipper Patrick Cripps said having Betts back at the club had delivered fantastic energy.
“He’s someone that everyone admires, and with the young forward line that we have, he’ll just jell that forwardline massively,” he said.
“The phones were off the hook the day he got traded. The excitement it’s going to create not only for us but the fans is going to be good to see.”
