Levi Greenwood will return for the Magpies are recovering from concussion, with the midfielder to replace fullback Lynden Dunn. While it is not a like-for-like replacement for Nathan Buckley’s team, the Magpies are expected to swing Brody Mihocek into defence to cover for Dunn, who will miss the rest of the season. McNiece will replace Matt Dea in the Bombers’ defence. GWS has lost two more players to injury. Scans have confirmed Jon Patton has torn his ACL and will miss the rest of the season, while Jacob Hopper will also miss the clash against West Coast with injury. Harry Perryman and debutant Brent Daniels come into the team The Eagles have swung some changes, with Jake Waterman dropped alongside Fraser McInnes and Liam Ryan. Nathan Vardy will play his first game of the season against the Giants on Sunday at the new Perth Stadium, while Oscar Allen will make his debut and Daniel Venables returns from injury. North Melbourne will welcome back tagger Ben Jacobs for its clash with Gold Coast but has lost key forward Mason Wood to injury. Melbourne has named Sam Frost to help fix its defensive problems and recalled Jeff Garlett from the football wildness. The Demons have lost their past three games since gun backman Jake Lever went down with a season-ending knee injury. Coach Simson Goodwin has tried several back line replacements including first-year defender Harrison Petty, but has now turned to out-of-favour Frost for only his third senior game of the year. Frost and Garlett, who has not played since Round 5, made their made way back in for Saturday night’s clash against Fremantle in Darwin. Onballer Dom Tyson was dropped again, along with emerging tall Sam Weideman, Petty and Mitch Hannan. Christian Petracca held his place in the senior team, while Bernie Vince was overlooked and will remain in the VFL. Tyson has been in and out of the Melbourne team this season and could look for a new home, including Essendon, at season’s end. Garlett, 28, will give the Dees more speed in the front half. The livewire kicked nine goals in his first five senior games before he was surprisingly banished to the VFL. It is a crucial game for the Demons, who could fall out of the eight with a fourth-straight loss. Fremantle will be without ruckman Aaron Sandilands and superstar midfielder Nat Fyfe. Meanwhile, Hawthorn regains premiership forward Jack Gunston in place of Tim O’Brien for its clash against Western Bulldogs. Shane Biggs will get another chance for the Dogs alongside fellow inclusion Caleb Daniel. Carlton has been boosted by the return of four key players including ruckman Matthew Kreuzer for Saturday’s clash against Brisbane at the Gabba. Veteran Dale Thomas and Caleb Marchbank will help give Brendon Bolton one of his strongest teams of the season, although key forward Levi Casboult was omitted and promising youngster Paddy Dow was rested. Jack Watts is back from the SANFL banishment for Port Adelaide’s clash with St Kilda. Watts, along with Tom Jonas, Aidyn Johnson, and Darcy Byrne-Jones come in at the expense of Jack Hombsch, Sam Gray, Todd Marshall and Jasper Pittard. The Saints have been hit hard by injury, losing Jake Carlisle and Josh Battle — while Josh Bruce broke his leg at training — but have regained star defender Jimmy Webster.
