O’Meara suffered a calf injury against the Swans. Other outs include James Frawley, Will Langford, Tim O’Brien, Brendan Whitecross and Daniel Howe. Paul Puopolo is the biggest inclusion. Essendon made five changes to help arrest its dramatic form slump, dropping out-of-form wingman Darcy Parish and defender Ben McNeice. Ball magnet Dylan Clarke and Jordan Ridley will make their debuts. Michael Hurley has succumbed to a hamstring injury while David Myers has also fallen victim to a hip issue. New faces Pat Kerr and Matt Shaw (ex-Gold Coast) are in Carlton’s extended squad for Sunday’s tussle against Melbourne.
