Forget the boos, Scott Pendlebury was a deserved winner of the Anzac Medal after Collingwood’s narrow win over Essendon.

But was Brisbane midfielder Lachie Neale unlucky to be denied the Marcus Ashcroft Medal by teammate Mitch Robinson in Brisbane’s QClash victory against Gold Coast?

Courier Mail reporter Andrew Hamilton awarded Neale the three votes for his 28-disposal performance which netted 142 SuperCoaches.

But Robinson also had an impact with 24 disposals and three goals.

Similarly, The Daily Telegraph’s Ben Horne elected Stephen Coniglio best on ground (24 disposals and four goals), but he was beaten to the Brett Kirk Medal by Tim Taranto (30 disposals, 17 contested).
