MELBOURNE has boosted its midfield stocks with confirmation young Fremantle onballer Viv Michie will join the Demons.
The Demons will hand the Dockers pick 54 in exchange for the 21-year-old, who will return to his home state in search of greater opportunity at senior level.
Michie was drafted with selection 44 in the 2010 national draft.
After struggling with injury in his first two years at the Dockers, he made his debut in round 14 this year when an injury-ravaged Freo side travelled to Simonds Stadium.
Good luck to the Rolls Royce, Viv Michie at the dees! Can play, better bloke! #skidmichie

He managed 13 disposals but was omitted the following week.
However his WAFL form was outstanding. Michie averaged 26 disposals in 16 games with WAFL club Peel Thunder, winning the club's best and fairest award.
He will now join the Demons and hope to earn a regular senior place under new coach Paul Roos.
