Katy Perry was almost spotless in her AFL Grand Final day spectacular at the MCG — but an unfortunate costume fail has come to light.
Fans across the internet have been having a giggle at the sight of one of the American’s dance crew running around with a deflated prop.
Perry, who was reportedly paid $5 million to sing five songs, took to the stage wearing a halter-neck blue metallic crop top and white trousers with cut-outs, which she paired with some futuristic shades.

A centrepiece of the stadium spectacular was the production of back-up dancers swirling around the oval holding sparkly silver orbs.
The sight of one performer running around with a deflated silver sack was impossible not to notice for those sitting near the display.
One video of the moment has been viewed 50,000 times with many making the same joke about the look of the malfunctioned prop.
Many were making the same joke that the orb looked exactly like a casked win “goon sack”.
It didn’t take the shine of Perry’ performance — but Aussie icon Tina Arena may have stolen the 39-year-old entertainer’s thunder.
Perry invited Arena onto the stage and the pair performed her I Kissed A Girl with a rock twist.
The real powerhouse moment that got the crowd going was when Perry and Arena burst into a rendition of the Aussie star’s smash hit Chains.
Fans rushed to comment on the pre-match performance, and while opinion was divided on Perry, everyone fell back in love with Arena.
“I’m not going to lie, Tina Arena sounds better than Katy Perry has been.#AFLGF,” said one viewer.
“Laughing at how Katy Perry upstaged Tina Arena on Tina’s own song Chains with the vocals (as they were trying to sing together), and then pretty much Katy goes ‘bye now Tina’ and waves her off” joked another.
A third remarked: “Tina Arena shames Katy Perry by singing in key.”
Perry rounded out her show with a rousing version of her smash hit Firework, before screaming: “I love you Australia!”
The other artist that rocked the event was pop star Cody Simpson.
The former swimmer was given the honour of performing the national anthem before the first bounce of the game and the 27-year-old’s traditional approach to the anthem was widely praised.
It’s not the first time the singer has sung the anthem, also performing the song at the Melbourne Cup carnival at Flemington Racecourse in 2022.
