Expletives fly between Bevo & Cornes!

Footy analyst Kane Cornes has taken a midseason break from his enormous media schedule on the back of some recent controversies.

Cornes did not appear on his AFL and Channel 7 Sunday night commitments as well as his popular Monday morning SEN radio slot.

The former Port Adelaide star won’t take part in Monday night’s Agenda Setters show on Channel 7 which relies heavily on his hard-hitting views to spice-up the weekly footy chat but the network’s Head of AFL Gary O’Keeffe said he’d return for Thursday night’s Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn clash.

“All of our talent take time off throughout the AFL season. Just like the players have a bye round, we make sure our team gets a break too,” O’Keeffe said

“This is Kane’s scheduled leave, and he’ll be back on deck for Thursday Night Footy this week.

“Dale Thomas will step into the Agenda Setters chair tonight, alongside Caroline Wilson, Craig Hutchison and Nick Riewoldt. Tomorrow night, Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell joins the panel alongside Luke Hodge, Craig Hutchison and Caroline Wilson.”

Cornes was replaced by respected SEN journalist Sam Edmund on Monday morning.

Other Channel 7 staff including Wilson, Brian Taylor and James Brayshaw have scheduled leave upcoming.

Kane Cornes reacts to being banned by AFL club

The days off are a little breather for Cornes who has been caught up in some fiery exchanges and controversies over his strong opinions this year.

A fortnight ago Cornes was involved in a terse exchange with long-time adversary and Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge on the back of being banned from North Melbourne’s change rooms for his “cheap kicks” criticism of Harry Sheezel.

Cornes has the busiest media schedule in the footy industry as he commutes between Adelaide and Melbourne to fulfil his regular tv and radio slots.
