Josh Jenkins is willing to sacrifice as much as $600,000 in an attempt to flee the crisis-stricken Crows.

Jenkins still has two years to run on a five-year contract at Adelaide worth more than $500,000 a season, but this week confirmed he wanted to play elsewhere.

He kicked 45 goals in the Crows’ run to the 2017 Grand Final and 46 last year, but could manage only 22 from 11 games in a 2019 season that saw him banished to the SANFL.

Jenkins is yet to attract the interest of a single rival club, with his hefty pay packet thought to be a major stumbling block.

But the 30-year-old is prepared to play for a base wage of as low as $200,000.

Match payments could take that close to $300,000, but it represents a significant pay cut for a player who has kicked 296 majors in a 147 games.

“If that’s what it takes to land at the right club, I’ve got no qualms with that,” Jenkins said earlier this week.

“I’m still going to make enough to get by from day to day, so I just really want the opportunity to play footy at a good club and a club that values me for what I can bring to the table.

“So we’ll see what happens.”

Jenkins told AFL trade radio he would “go anywhere” to continue his AFL career.

“It’s a unique opportunity. I am not going to sit here and say I’d only play at three or four clubs,” he said.
