Injured Collingwood star Taylor Adams searches for fan who helped him after match

Injured Collingwood star Taylor Adams has taken to social media to find and thank a young footy supporter for their kindness.

Collingwood star Taylor Adams has issued a public call-out to find the young girl who helped him back to the club’s headquarters following his injury in the Magpies’ qualifying final loss to Geelong at the MCG.

In a heartwarming postscript to what is expected to be a season-ending groin injury for the Magpies vice-captain, Adams revealed on social media a young girl had offered to hold his hand to help him cross Olympic Boulevard after seeing he “was flat” following the match.

The young girl then gave the star midfielder a “massive hug”.

Adams had to be helped from the field after hurting his right groin when he slipped trying to kick late in the last quarter of the Magpies’ six-point loss to the Cats.

It was Adams’ first game since round 20 after being sidelined with an adductor injury.

Touched by the young girl’s kind gesture, Adams asked for the help of the Magpies army to help find her.

“Magpie Army I need your help,” Adams tweeted on Saturday night.

“Following today’s game, whilst walking back to the AIA centre a young girl and her father could see I was flat.

“The young girl came up to me and offered to hold my hand crossing Swan street (Olympic Boulevard), she then gave (me) a massive hug.

“I would love to find them.”

Adams’ tweet has already been retweeted more than 550 times and had almost 5700 likes.

Scans are expected to confirm a season-ending injury to Adams as the Magpies attempt to bounce back from their qualifying final loss in a semi-final showdown against Fremantle on Saturday night at the MCG.

“It looks like Tay’s season done,” Magpies’ coach Craig McRae said after the match.

“It looks like he might have torn the groin off the bone. That could be the early diagnosis. I just grabbed him then.

“He’s had his moment of emotion and we’ll get around him and support him as best as we can.”

Collingwood’s injury concerns not confined to Taylor Adams.

Jordan De Goey has undergone scans. He was tight lipped, but suggestion is possible shoulder issue. Club insists precautionary.
