HAWTHORN may part with sharpshooter Luke Breust to clinch the deal for Gold Coast Suns midfield star Jaeger O’Meara.
The Hawks will launch immediately into aggressive trade talks in a bid to secure O’Meara, 22, hard-nut Swans onballer Tom Mitchell, 23, and Richmond free agent Tyrone Vickery, 26.
Breust, 25, is expected to consider his future over the next fortnight after meeting with Hawks chiefs and could land a significant pay rise if he agrees to move north.

PROVEN RECORD: JAEGER BACKS HAWKS TO REIGNITE CAREER
The triple-premiership midfield-forward, from New South Wales, finished eighth in the Hawks’ best-and-fairest last year and has booted 271 goals over his 140 matches.
But he had a quiet game in the Hawks’ semi-final loss to Western Bulldogs on Friday night, with 10 possessions.
Coach Alastair Clarkson said the O’Meara deal would likely be “pretty difficult” but said the Hawks could be “really, really active” in this year’s player movement market.
The Suns want an established midfielder for O’Meara and could also ask for a draft pick to sweeten the deal for the injury-plagued Rising Star.
Mitchell is expected to join the Hawks, while Vickery is their third priority.
The Hawks can land Vickery for nothing unless the Tigers match the free-agency offer in an attempt to squeeze out a better deal from the Hawks at the trade table.
Vickery did not attend Richmond’s best-and-fairest night.
