Halftime happiness as kids take the field at Giants game

Around 1000 kids from junior clubs are set to take the field on Saturday as GWS Giants celebrate Kids Takeover

The highly anticipated GWS Giants Kids Takeover, presented by Harvey Norman, is set to take place on Saturday at the Giant Stadium in Olympic Park, with 1000 kids from junior clubs set to walk the field at half time.

The Giants club, which is taking on Freemantle Dockers, has reached out to all local junior clubs across Western Sydney, extending an invitation for free entry to the game to partake in the unique halftime opportunity.

Lachie Whitfield, a midfielder for the GWS Giants, said the Kids Takeover is also a special day for disability support charity What Ability.

“Kids round is one of our favourite rounds of the year, and we love having all the support of the kids in the crowd. There are always heaps of entertainment on and off the field, and the Giants and Harvey Norman have so much fun planned for the weekend. It makes it even more special to have What Ability included on the day as well.”

To create a comfortable and welcoming environment, a reserved What Ability section with indoor and outdoor seating will be set up within the stadium. The area will be equipped with bean bags and umbrellas, serving as a designated meeting point for participants and their families.

The Giants and Harvey Norman, who are both supporters of disability support charity What Ability, will also extend a number of money can’t buy experiences to the charity on the day, including the coin toss, opportunity to be on field during the guard of honour, and delivering the match day ball.

The Giants will be celebrating Kids round with plenty of kids entertainment including a performance by The Beanies, Giant-branded inflatables, the Harvey Norman dance cam, free giveaways and $2 hot chips.

The game starts at 4:35pm and kids under the age of 15 are free when accompanied by a paying adult.
