ESSENDON forward Stewart Crameri could land at the Western Bulldogs in a three-way trade involving Fremantle and Bombers teammate Scott Gumbleton.

Crameri is hell bent on joining former mentor Brendan McCartney at Whitten Oval, however a deal between the clubs is yet to be finalised.

The Bombers previously baulked at the Dogs best offer - pick 26 - was 22 before compensation picks were allocated to rival clubs.

But Crameri's agent, Paul Connors, who also manages Gumbleton, revealed Fremantle was part of discussions ahead of Friday's 2pm trades deadline.

Gumbleton is keen to return to his native Western Australia.

"It always gets a bit harder when you include another club, you need all parties to agree in terms of a trade," Connors told Trade Radio.

"I don't think they'll be at any other clubs, that's for sure."

Connors refused to rule Crameri going into the pre-season draft.

"I think common sense will prevail... I think he'll (Crameri) be at the Bulldogs next year.

"He's very keen on joining the Western Bulldogs and Brendan McCartney.

"But to Essendon's credit, they're trying to get the best possible deal for the Essendon Football Club.

"They're working pretty hard behind the scenes in terms of what else they can come up with."

Meanwhile, disgruntled Brisbane ruckman Billy Longer will end up at St Kilda, according to Connors.

"I think Billy Longer will get to the Saints for sure... Saints offering up pick 25, again Brisbane would like something more.

"I would have thought it's (pick 25) is pretty reasonable.

"It's a tough situation, I don't envy the Lions in the situation they're in... they've probably done pretty well to salvage what they can."
