Junior guns. Dumped AFL players. State league stars. Surprise local names. More than 400 players have nominated for the AFL Draft so far – see them all here.

Meet the stars of the 2023 AFL draft

More than 400 players have already nominated for this month’s national draft as they seek to realise their AFL dreams.

The league sent its first list of early nominations to clubs this week, with the countdown on until the opening night of the draft on November 20.

Players can still nominate for the draft until 3pm on November 13, meaning the final list will include a lot more names.

Top-10 prospects including Harley Reid, Zane Duursma, Nick Watson, Ryley Sanders and Nate Caddy are among the 441 players who have already lodged their nominations for the draft.

Top VFL prospects Samuel Clohesy and Shaun Mannagh (both Werribee) have also lodged their nominations, along with Richmond VFL defender Mutaz El Nour and Geelong VFL backman Bailey Van De Heuvel.

Recently delisted West Coast midfielder Xavier O’Neill is another name on the list, along with former Port Adelaide pair Boyd Woodcock and Joel Garner.

Father-son prospects William McCabe (Hawthorn), Kynan Brown (Melbourne) and Indhi Kirk (Sydney) have all nominated, as has Sydney Swans Academy midfielder Caiden Cleary.

There have been 57 nominations so far from SANFL players, as well as 73 nominations from WAFL players.

A small number of players from local leagues around the country have also nominated.

The first round of the national draft is being held on November 20, with the remaining rounds to be completed on November 21.

Clubs are expecting around 55 selections to be used in the national draft.

Further opportunities will be available through the pre-season and rookie drafts on November 22 and as Category B rookies.
