If you were in Andrew Dillon’s shoes, what would you do?

AFL teams have been vocal about the state of the game, both on and off the field, so far in 2024.

From rule changes to draft systems and equalisation measures, a number of players, coaches and executives have been critical about the state of the game and offered their respective opinions on different topics.

Non-Victorian teams have been vocal with their issues about the competitive balance of the league, with complaints made about travel, finals locations and ‘Vic bias’.

Victorian sides have lodged their own complaints, mainly surrounding the northern academies and the teams’ access to elite talent they produce in the elite systems.

Meanwhile the rules have been tinkered with throughout the season, with interpretations of rules changing from week to week.

The AFL, led by chief executive Andrew Dillon, has staunchly defended the quality of umpiring and suggested it is “as good as it’s ever been”.

But what do the fans think?
