Demons star Angus Brayshaw is used to being on the receiving end of some big hits on the footy field.

But he was the one doling out the punishment in a surprise location on the weekend, Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

Brayshaw, 27, an AFL premiership-winner who has been involved in some high-profile concussions in recent seasons for the Demons, is also an avid golfer and a member at Royal Melbourne.

The midfielder has reportedly dined out on his hole-in-one at the course back in 2018.

He won’t be so keen to recount this story, however, after Brayshaw’s stray tee shot struck another member on the head.

The story was tipped off by an anonymous called into Melbourne radio station 3AW, who said Brayshaw was able to quickly apologise and sort out the potentially dangerous situation.

A photo then emerged of Brayshaw alongside the golfer, who has a beaming smile despite the blood pouring down the left side of his face.

“At a prestigious Melbourne golf club on the weekend, a wayward tee shot by a member struck another member on a distant fairway,” the caller told 3AW.

“Things were quickly patched up with a photo and possibly the promise of some tickets for the King’s Birthday football game.”

The match that was referenced is an annual clash between Melbourne and Collingwood at the MCG.

Known as the Queen’s Birthday game for the past 70 years until Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, this year the match will be held on Monday, June 10.
