AFLW Draft Combine 2023: Records shattered as Dandenong Stingray Mikayla Williamson breaks 2km time trial record

There is a talented crop of youngsters on the way in the AFLW, and plenty of records were shattered at the draft combine. See the best results in every event.

Potential first-round prospect Mikayla Williamson blitzed the Victorian AFLW Draft Combine on Sunday, breaking the 2km time trial record and recording the second-best agility run of all-time.

The Dandenong Stingrays midfielder ran the 2km time trial in 7:09 minutes, breaking the previous record held by Geelong star Nina Morrison and GWS Giants young gun Tarni Evans.

Williamson finished with a blistering time of 8.328 seconds in the agility test, coming close to Brisbane Lions forward Zimmorlei Farquharson’s record of 8.170 seconds.

She also came fourth in the vertical jump (59cm) and equal fifth in the running vertical jump (64cm), highlighting her elite all-round athleticism

Possible top-10 talent Laura Stone ran the second best 20m sprint of all-time (3.080) and the fifth best agility test result ever recorded (8.516 seconds), with the Eastern Ranges prospect headlining a group with plenty of speed.

Remarkably, Georgia Stubs (3.112), Amber Schutte (3.164) and Isabel Bacon (3.164) also entered the record books with top-four all-time finishes in the 20m sprint.

Calder Cannons midfielder Amy Gaylor was first in both the vertical jump (62cm, equal third all-time) and running vertical jump (74cm equal fourth all-time) as she showed off her exceptional spring.

Testing will continue this week across the country this weekend in South Australia, Western Australia the Northern Territory.

Combine invitees from New South Wales (September 25th) and Queensland (October 8) have completed their testing.
