If the pre-season form is anything to go by, it is going to be a pleasure-filled season for Saints fans.

St Kilda, in the club’s second season under Ross Lyon, sits atop the pre-season ladder as the competition turns its focus towards opening round in New South Wales and Queensland.

St Kilda won both of its pre-season matches, with a convincing 56-point victory over Essendon before beating North Melbourne by 19 points on Sunday.

The Saints were one of four sides to win both their unofficial match simulation as well as their official Community Series match, with Brisbane, Western Bulldogs and Geelong also undefeated.

For percentage purposes, only the first four periods of the first-week match simulations were included in the ladder, with some results differing after six or eight periods of play.

It meant that Adelaide and Port Adelaide were both technically undefeated on the ladder, having secured a draw in the first four quarters of match simulation before the Power surged ahead in the final two periods.

There were five teams that failed to secure a victory in the pre-season, with West Coast, Gold Coast, Essendon, Hawthorn and Carlton all losing both match ups.

The Western Bulldogs, who played Hawthorn in both pre-season clashes, scored the most points across the two weeks, having piled on 227 points.

Only Adelaide, who scored 210, eclipsed the 200-point mark as well.

While the Bulldogs led the scoring, their only opponent, Hawthorn, conceded the most in the pre-season matches.

However West Coast (215) and Gold Coast (207) both joined the Hawks over the 200-point mark for conceded scores.

Along with finishing on top of the ladder, St Kilda conceded the least points (105), while the Lions (111) were not far behind.
